Came here for the first time on a Tuesday night. The place was very dark and the music was kind of loud. Bartender was very friendly and quick to ask me what I would like. Food was pretty good (a little salty but tasty) and the Mai Tai's weren't bad even if they were a little weak. I was kind of shocked that they didn't have any Asian beer. It's a place that serves Asian food and no Asian beer?!! Not even TsingTao?!! Also it kind of seems like the kind of place a lot of the riff raff like to go at night. I kinda kept thinking somebody was going to come over and pick a fight with me (which luckily didn't happen, lol). Nothing really bad about the place just not really my cup of tea as far as dining in goes not to mention it was a little pricey I thought but probably not a bad place to get take out on a late night and like I said the bartender was very pleasant. Would actually give it 3.5 stars if I could. I think it's slightly better than 3 but...
Read moreFor as long as I can remember, Ming Dynasty was the go to place for strong drinks and chain smoking (back when that was legal). As an aside, they had Chinese food which was pretty bad.
After not going there for a couple of decades, I figured I'd give them another fair try with a take-out order to see if things have improved. (Spoiler alert: they have not.)
First, I was a little sticker shocked when my regular order (which is usually ~$43 at other local restaurants) came to $55. Then we started eating it. I must have been really hungry, because at first, I thought the chicken wings were ok. But then I realized how salty they were. The sweet and sour chicken had been cooked WAY too long and was rock hard. The lo mein was again too salty and terribly overspiced.
In the end, we just tossed it all and made a sandwich. But I like to be open minded, so I plan on trying them again in...
Read moreMy dear friends were visiting from Connecticut & went her on my recommendation (I had heard good things about the food)... They liked the food, but the service was atrocious — to the point where they didn’t leave a tip. I’ve known them over 15 years, they are some of the most generous people I have ever known — the service would have to have been awful for them to be so upset, & to call me & tell me how awful it was. “Rapid Business Services” is a legitimate name, it’s the name of my friends business. As business owners themselves, they could teach you a thing or two about customer service!! Bad service is one thing, but you had an opportunity here to rectify the situation & you chose to accuse them of having a “fake name” instead. I guess I’ll be getting Chinese food elsewhere in town... Which is a shame, as I live less than a mile away & would have been a...
