Mi Ranchito — Restaurant in Martinsville

If I could give this place negative reviews I would. We had high hopes as we came in planning on eating here all week as we are here on business and that quickly changed, our waitress could not answer any questions we had about size of portions or what alcohol they serve . I asked the waitress if they have corn tortillas as I’m allergic to flour she said they did so I ordered as I’m eating it I questioned if they were corn or flour I had a feeling they were flour the took the food and never returned as we waited about a half hour we tried to get another waitress and she comes back with the food they remade saying that this time it’s corn I told her I do not want it she offered to take it off the bill we thanked her, and then she comes back with a box and says they made it and can not remove it I asked for a manager and continued to wait probably another half hour waitress never returned so we ask another waitress for a manager and we get our original waitress and she asked you want the bill? We responded we want the manager we have asked multiple times so the manager finally comes out and he is high glassy eyes and would not refund any of the food as they served me food I will get sick from and only made excuses and would only say sorry about that. Please train your staff. We live in a world where customer service goes a long way. Unfortunately the group that is in town plus myself are customer service con assures. Pay attention to your bill if you eat here before 230 and are expecting to be charged the lunch prices from their lunch menu We ate here at 130 and were charged the dinner price, which was $4 more per plate. When I asked why, I was told we didn't specify that we wanted the lunch version, the server didn't ask us when we ordered which version we wanted and it is not listed on the lunch menu that you must request the lunch option on the menu. The lunch menu also doesn't mention that the lunch portions are smaller than the dinner portions and therefore cheaper. The Manager/maybe owner based on her behavior, was not apologetic about this either. Instead she mentioned multiple times how much this was going to cost her and how it was going to hurt her business having to refund me the difference. I told her each time that she needed to discuss this with her server as he was the one who did not inform me as the consumer that there was a dinner plate option being served during the lunch menu timeframe. After a good 10 minutes of her complaining to me about her losses from this, she did refund the difference. This was our first visit to one of the many Mexican food restaurants in Martinsville, it will be our last at this one. Why did I give it 5 stars? The food was fantastic, service was terrible. We were there on a Monday night, not very busy. Waited for quite a while to get seated as the person at the register ignored us and multiple wait staff walked by. Finally register employee asked if we had been helped? Wife's order was quick, mine was a good 15 mins later. As I said, food was really good once we finally got it. Waiter was no where to be seen until we asked for a box and the check, only brought the box. Finally got the check and he insisted on taking it to the register, fine. After another 10 mins of him walking laps around the place and not doing anything I went to the register to get my card, they didn't have it. Waiter still had it and could see seen talking and laughing in the kitchen. Finally tracked it down and he said he would bring it to the table, I refused and said I just wanted to pay and leave, we'd been there almost 2 hours with all the delays.

Wish the service was better, cause the food was better than average for american...
