Been here before with my corporate team as this is such a great authentic Mexican Restaurant. However, I had a horrible experience Saturday, April 3, 2021, while i was having lunch with my friend. We order our food and came out at time accordingly. One of the servers misunderstood my complement of “how great & calmly she dropped of our food (in English& comment to my friend)!” Three minutes later, the original server came back and asked “ who had a Pupusas?” I said I did. Then, she asked “which of one of you called my family fat (Spanish)?” I was extremely shock of how the question was asked and why she was asking this. I calmly answered the question and informed her that I never called no one fat (in Spanish), yet, I complemented the second (2) server for how calm she dropped of the food.
I then, informed her that I would never disrespect anyone in such way nor said such comment. The way that this was address was not acceptable. Also, one of the restaurant employees was sitting right behind us and if the servers would had asked what happen, then they would had been able to understand what was said. I was so upset that this happened and my appetite was gone. Five minutes later, I got up and request salt, my check and a to go bag. Server one (1) and two (2) passed by me and didn’t acknowledge me what so ever and the boy employee sitting behind us was the one who gave me my Request.
Sadly, this had to happen and because of this unprofessional and HORRIBLE Experience I will never go back. One (1) star because the food is actually really good but the insult of how the matter was address is...
Read moreFor all those looking for really great Mexican food in the Overland area, look no further! I have passed by this place probably more than a hundred times on my way to the Rock Road to do some shopping but never stopped for a bite.
They offer Mexican food, breakfast items, and burgers, so there are a ton of options on the menu. We stuck with all Mexican items for this particular trip. The waitress was incredibly friendly the whole time we were there but didn't feel the need to stop by the table constantly, which was great. They give you complimentary chips and salsa to get you going; the chips were always warm, and the salsa tasted roasted with a good kick of spice. I wasn't personally a fan of the coffee brand they brew, but I tend to be picky about my caffeine.
I ordered the California burrito with chicken to get a feel for how King Burrito does actual burritos, and I was not disappointed! They don't use the usual shredded chicken in their burritos, but grilled (even the non-fajita burritos). The chicken was great and the fried potatoes inside were heavenly. The burrito was also enormous for the low cost. My husband got the chicken fajitas which had enough filling for 9 fajitas! The fajita chicken had extra seasoning, which was amazing. We...
Read moreWhen it comes to finding a Mexican restaurant I'm on the hunt. I'll start by saying this place feels on the more hole in the wall places I've found in awhile since my last visit to Florida. When you sit down the salsa is not brought to you as normal,it's in condiment containers which both have a taste for everyone so you can refill at your leisure. The night started with a queso dip and a pitcher of lime margaritas the queso had a taste that could be found anywhere. As for the margaritas they reminded me of a 1800 or Quervo pre mix so good but not great. When it came to food though the gear was a complete 180. The fajita burrito was in street format (wrapped in aluminum foil) it was filled to the point of exploding with a nice saute pepper taste to give that fajitas taste. With the Hawaiin dish the flavors all complimented very well and they gave a healthy portion of shrimp we counted 12 in all. Overall I'd recommend only reason for the 4 stars is that even though the shrimp was perfectly cooked and well seasoned it came with all the tails on so you have to dig to pick and back to the salsa it's nit pick but the salsa is in ramekins so you can't ever get that perfect dip. Overall a...
