El Pollo Cool — Restaurant in Maryland

Tired Peruvian food for the first time when visiting CA and loved it so I decided to find a local spot close to home that had good reviews. El Pollo Cool had the best tasting chicken! It’s charbroiled and hands down better than Boston market’s rotisserie chicken. Even their white meat was tender, juicy & flavorful! We also tried their steak (carne asada) which was good with the green sauce but I prefer their chicken. You get green (spicy) & yellow (not spicy) sauce with your meals. Their cilantro rice was really yummy and much better than chipotle’s. My son said their fresh vegetables (broccoli, cauliflower, & carrots) were flavorful and liked it. I thought their green beans, corn, & plantains were good but their fried rice was a little bland. I will definitely be back to get their chicken again and try more dishes. I think I might try their Grilled chicken pesto ciabatta sandwich next.

I had been anticipating visiting since March when I first noticed El Pollo Loco had opened. It's hard to start a restaurant, especially during a pandemic. Very glad that they have been able to stay open.

I went in today to pickup lunch for our family and some guests. It's a simple place but with a wider selection of menu items than I expected.

I ordered 3 whole chickens and some large sides. The food was perfect and more flavorful than I had been anticipating for the last three months

I probably would have never tried this place, but my wife brought home some of their food recently and it was delicious! I've been trying to persuade her to go there for lunch ever since. Today we got a barbecue chicken salad and a buffalo chicken wrap with fries. I got to try her salad and it was very good. I loved my chicken wrap and the fries were just right.

I'm not sure whether it's obvious from the photos, but place is immaculately clean - absolutely spotless! There are a few small tables inside and a few tables outside as well.
