Restaurant just opened up about 2 weeks ago and the family was eager to sample a more authentic ramen / oriental food experience apart from our normal local Chinese places.
The restaurant is a very clean minimalist layout as it's located in a smaller storefront which unfortunately leads to less seating.
The food. What can I say about the food... it was good. No sorry it was DAMN good. When we arrived it was a bit busy and we were warned they had a higher than usual wait time due to in restaurant as well as a number of takeout orders. I total we waited about 20 minutes for the appetizer a plate of 5 steamed pork gyuza, ohhh was yummy and a tease for the meal to come.
After the appetizer we waited about another 30 - 40 minutes for our main course. My wife had the Beef Bulgogi which was served on a sizzling skillet. Sliced beef with zucchini and a delicious sauce made the dish to die for. I had the Beef Miso Ramen as I must admit I have a interest in oriental lifestyle and wanted to try a real ramen bowel and not a cardboard tasting 50 cent grocery store thing called ramen. All I can say is it was everything I expected and more: was so delicious and filling.
For a small added touch you are given chopsticks by default and must ask for silverware. Not to be swane, I choose to keep the chopsticks and quickly viewed a video or two so not to look completely uncoordinated.
The price is a tad high for the area but the food more than makes up for the cost. The high wait times I'll attribute to being a new buisness, busy on a Monday night, dealing with additional time for covid cleaning, and more so them prospering more than they anticipated.
Will 100%...
Read moreCame all the way from Rockville for a day trip with a friend of mine and wanted visit and try out his friends restaurant. The ambient of this place is very modern using light colored wood making this place very relaxing. Also, to add a little spice to it there are figures of Kaws everywhere especially at the bar. If I lived closer this would be a great hangout place for me. We ordered for starters takoyaki and chicken wings and both were phenomenal. takoyaki was steaming and had the perfect texture, and the chicken wings was glazed with a nice sweet and spicy sauce. For the main dish my friend decided to order the black garlic tonkatsu ramen because we heard that their noodles are housemade, he said that their ramen is better than any other ramen place he had tried and everything tasted freshly made. I had the beef bulgogi bukeum and it sure is a lot of food. It was presented with a sizzling hot plate and mountain of beef and vegetables, surely enough for two people. It had a great balance of sweet and savory and made the 3 hour drive worth it for sure! Thanks again for the amazing...
Read moreSo I tried to get 2 ramen bowls yesterday. They were sold out at 12:30 pm. I came back today at 11:30 am. I ordered the Korean kimchi ramen and a vegetarian ramen bowl. They told me they needed to check if they have any vegetable ramen left. They came back after asking someone and said I was in luck. I ordered and they told me to return 1/2 an hour later. I ran a few errands and returned. They told me they were sorry but did not have the vegetable ramen. I got my money back but then had to wait an additional 10 minutes for them to "make the Korean Kimchi ramen bowl". I know they just opened but hopefully they work out their growing pains. It was surprisingly not busy. I get home and try it. It was surprisingly bland with not much flavor. There wasn't the fish cake, or Nori and no half marinated egg as the menu described. There were 3 shrimps that had to be peeled. I will return another time and try something else but very underwhelming for $16.00 . So far the $0.99 cent Ramen from the grocery store has...
