IHOP — Restaurant in Maryland

I'm only giving you one star, because I can not give you a zero. This was probably my worst dining experience, ever! I am aware that it is Memorial Sunday at 9am and I will give patience when it is due, but this was not the case, at this location. Upon arrival were greeted by a Hostess, who sat us immediately. It took about 5 minutes until our server acknowledged us, which I get, since it was the official opening of our season in OC. The restaurant was fairly busy & he came and asked what we wanted to drink. While he was getting our drinks, three tables came in and sat after us. Our drinks were delivered and we placed our breakfast order. My husband ordered the waffle and 4 slices of bacon and I ordered a grilled chicken bowl and a GF pancake. This is where the wait begins... We waited, we finished our drinks and waited. No knowledgement of refills on our drinks and we waited. The three tables that sat after us, and got their food before us. My husband questioned the server & he said that the food would be out shortly. We waited again about 10 minutes & then I decided that management needed to be involved. Manager came by & explained the situation that they were short 1 cook and that she would take care of our check. We continued to wait about another 5 minutes. The server slid a plate of 4 slices of bacon to my husband and I received a bowl of something, which was not my meal. It was supposed to be a grilled chicken bowl, but this was not chicken and when we asked the server, he said "yup this doesn't look like chicken". At this point we decided to leave. This whole experience took over 50 minutes and we still did not get our breakfast! This was a fiasco! I hope that you all get your poop together or it's going to be a long and very hard...

Where do I begin.. Once seated, we waited a half hour before the waitress come over. She had an instant attitude. I had asked her for the same coffee beverage my husband was getting but quickly dismissed me with, "I know. I heard him!" 😯 but still brung me the wrong drink 🤬 and had the audacity to slide the coffee pot on the table, smh. So we ordered our food that she claimed to have written down. For my omelette I asked for avocado to be added -- Ok, Hold that thought.... So 40 mins later, I received a cold dish of sliced avocado w NO omelette. NOT FROM THE WAITRESS BUT FROM ANOTHER MEMBER OF THE KITCHEN STAFF.😕.. Remind you we are still waiting for our food and our so-called waitress hasn't checked on us. We eventually flag down one of the Managers who apologized and stated our food will be out shortly...NOT. Another half hour go past and I'm LIVID, READY TO LEAVE!! That waitress still walking past without any acknowledgement or freaking refills.. Food finally comes, my daughter gets half her meal and cheese on her eggs that she clearly told Miss Waitress-remind you she claim to have written down-no cheese. The pancakes my daughter ordered came in another 10 minutes plain without any fixings BUT HAD ONIONS IN IT! 😡🤬😡 Who in the hell puts ONIONS IN PANCAKES!!!! So we complained AGAIN!! Almost 2 hours for breakfast on our mini-vacation. To make matters worse, We weren't the only customers complaining! They need to really look into their customer service skills. I mad I deleted the picture of those pancakes, disgusting..We will not...

I’m not sure what’s happened but this place has gone down hill in the past year or two. It is soooo unclean. You can smell a sour smell throughout (due to the fruit/whip cream/dishwasher). I used to work in the business and know for a fact that smell is coming from unclean dish area. The amount of flies, and fruit flies in the dinning room means there is easily double in the back. I did not see one person actually cleaning. The last time we were there the waitresses hands were unbelievably dirty and black. This time our server did attempt to keep herself clean which I appreciate but considering the rest of the place is disgusting I know that’s impossible for her to do. Finally, the bathrooms—- you can tell a lot from a bathroom. If the bathroom in a restaurant is dirty imagine the kitchen. I think Corp needs to step it to bring this back up to sop especially with cleanliness of staff and store. I thought the last time I went in to the restaurant it was a fluke but I now know someone just doesn’t make their employees clean (maybe Corp since many places state that their servers no longer can clean or do side work outside of their normal work- this is causing many restaurants to become unclean) either way someone needs to fix it asap! I do want to include that I understand the summers have higher sales and there is less time for extras but maybe they can try doing extra cleaning at night shift when it’s less busy. Hope you guys can turn this around because my kids love...
