It's unfortunate that 1 star is the lowest score.
I've had numerous poor experiences at this location. Unfortunately, the store is unreachable via phone (no answer, continuously unavailable) to express myconcerns. Attempts in contacting corporate are also a waste of energy; nothing is done. This is just the latest of years of issues.
On the night of Tuesday, October 8, 2024, I approached the McDonald's of 15475 Marlboro Pike's drive-through lane. I chose the outermost lane because it was not occupied.
While waiting to give my order, I noticed two cars placing orders and proceeding to the pay window. I said hello in the microphone many times before being greeted with a "gimme a minute."
After a minute, or so, I was then asked, "Can I take your order?" I immediately asked why the cars in the other lanes were given immediate assistance, and I was waiting, now over five minutes, to place an order. The young lady then said, "it was only one car." I quickly corrected her, told her it was two cars, and now a third car has progressed through the lane. She immediately yelled, "it was only one car!" I then asked for the manager on duty; she then disconnected the conversation.
After waiting for the manager for at least a minute, I decided to proceed to the payment window. As I approached the window, the previous young lady switched places with another worker.
While at the window, with the previous worker in the background, the new worker asked me for my order. I asked to speak with the manager on duty. The previous worker reached around the other and closed the window. I could then see her, I assume, explaining the situation to a plain dressed young man.
The young man then opened the window and asked, "Could I take your order?" I said yes, are you the manager? He nodded, I asked, " what is to the young lady's name?" She said, "Raven, " and pulled on her sweatshirt to expose her nametag.
I then explained the whole situation of what happened while I was waiting to place an order in the drive-through lane. Raven then immediately cut me off and said, "it was only one car", said, "no, it was two, as I told you earlier and then a third proceeded, by the time we were finished," Raven then she said no, it wasn't", I said, "excuse me, why are you talking? Why are you talking? I am talking to him. " She then rolled her eyes. I then asked the young man his name. He said, "Devante."
Devante then said, "What do you want? What do you want to order?" I said, "well, I'd like to start with an apology. " Of course, I was refused, then Devante says, "what do you want to eat?" I proceeded to give him my order as I was understandably disappointed. Devante said, "$10.15". After pulling out my method of payment, I thought, "I can't trust the food here, I can't trust the order I'm given will be safe for consumption".
I then replaced my currency and said, "I'll have to trust McDonald's Corporate will know exactly what my order is." Raven then laughed and said, as I proceeded out of the line, "they not gonna help you."
Situations happen more often than they should at this location.
I decided then and there, I would never go to that location again. And unfortunately, I'll probably never go to another McDonald's ever again either. The time spent at the location exceeded 25 minutes, which is ridiculous. For a place that is established itself as a respected fast food restaurant, this location leaves a lot to be desired. I drove to Wendy's to enjoy a delicious meal without incident. A childhood favorite will no longer be frequented.
Rudeness, immaturity and unprofessionalism, unfortunately, prevail at this 15475 McDonald's Marlboro Pike, Upper Marlboro location.
If you have a choice, and you always do, don't eat at...
Read moreThe rating is a -0. We went inside since the drive through was terribly crowded. One customer was waiting in line already for 40 minutes is what he told us for a coffee. We waited almost 20 - 30 minutes and they could not get our order correct. The first bag they tried to give us had less food than we played for. They got my husband's sandwich incorrect twice. Finally the manager who had just come on duty, said she would handle it. She then informed the 20 piece chicken nuggets did not come as a meal. The young kid who took our order did not inform of this. Now you would think with the incorrect food twice, mix up and long wait the fries would have been given but NO. I HAD TO PAY. THEN NO UNDEEET TEA WAS BREWED ALONG WITH COFFEE. So I am waiting and both husband and I are tired and hungry. After paying for fries which the trashy manager stood and watched to ensure I did, the yea was not ready. The attendant told both myself and the gentleman waiting for coffee they just began the brew. I waited about 3 more minutes and then I told them to give me a cup so I could go and that they were unprofessional and out of order. They never offered apologies to anyone. One person was even yhete for 15 mins waiting on pies. Another person had an online order and waited 40 minutes and both her and the coffee man were still there after we left. So they were there about AN HOUR! BY THE WAY, the food was o.k. The fries were salty and the nuggets were o.k. My husband said his sandwich was pretty good. I am a stickler for hot food and since there was so much back and forth with the order and waiting for tea to get brewed, well there goes the hot fresh food committment. TOTAL FAILURE AND...
Read moreUPDATE on January 3, 2025: The last 3 times I have ordered va the app and parked for curbside delivery, this McDonald's has been great, and my food has been delivered within 5 minutes. I don't know if it was the time of day I was there (3:30pm) or if they are now under better management, but I've updated my review accordingly.
Waited a long time for 2 cheeseburgers and a fry. Hand dryer was not working in men's room so someone just placed a roll of paper on the sink that was already soaked.
UPDATE on September 18, 2024: My food was never delivered to me at curbside, although the app said my food would be ready in 3-5 minutes. I waited 15 minutes before going inside to find my cold food sitting behind the counter, clearly marked with "CURBSIDE 5". When I asked if the bag had been sitting there all this time, the woman behind the counter remarked, "I don't know - I just got here," with NO apology.
This McDonald's location is known for its terrible service, and I only ordered from this one because I was not close to the one I normally order from at 12168 Central Ave in Mitchellville, MD. This restaurant at 15475 Marlboro Pike in Upper Marlboro, MD, desperately needs a new manager and then better training for its employees in customer service.
With a Wendy's, an Arby's, and a KFC all within 1-2 miles of this McDonald's, I don't know how they can stay in business. I know I will never be going back to this location. I hope upper management takes this review to heart and then takes action because this restaurant reflects negatively on the McDonald's name...
