This is my very honest review on this place. Reviews are created to not mess a business up, but to help them improve and I hope that this review is taken seriously. I just stopped at in while traveling from North Carolina to New York City, and unfortunately, my experience was quite disappointing. My family and I were on our way to my mother's funeral, and I was hoping to find a welcoming place to enjoy a meal together and take a break from the road.
Upon entering, I was eager to order a pepperoni pizza, garlic knots, and a buffalo chicken calzone, wings…. And everything…I was planning to spend around $100 -$200 on a nice meal for my husband and our three adult kids. However, the lady at the counter looked at me with confusion when I asked for the buffalo chicken calzone, as if my order was something out of the ordinary. It was disheartening, especially given the fact that we're living in 2025 and buffalo chicken anything especially calzones are quite common. Her attitude was dismissive and unwelcoming, making me feel uncomfortable at a time when I needed kindness the most. We decided to not get anything huge or sit down to eat…. I just took a pepperoni pie and garlic knots and that’s it… spent $22 Who knows how many other people have entered this place with intentions to buy more food and her behavior discourage people from giving them their business or returning…….. 🙏🏼
In the restaurant industry, customer service is paramount. The first impression is everything, and the energy that this woman projected was far from hospitable. It's essential to treat every customer with respect and warmth, as you never know what they might be going through. Unfortunately, this experience felt very cold and uninviting.
While the food itself was okay—decent pizza and garlic knots—the overall experience was marred by the poor customer service. I genuinely believe that if the owner were to address this issue, possibly by reevaluating the staff at the front, it could lead to a much more positive atmosphere for customers. If the woman at the counter is the owner's wife, she may feel untouchable, but that shouldn't be the case in a customer-driven business. They should put somebody young with a fresh face somebody more friendly.
In conclusion, I would strongly recommend that management consider providing better training for her in customer relations to enhance the dining experience for future customers. A little kindness goes a long way, especially in the...
Read moreI was so excited to move to Maryland and find out Nick and Joe's were still in business. N &J was the spot to hit if you went to the Castle Mall. I have decided to redo my previous review because I never read the reviews before and it looks as if someone is out to sabotage N&J REVIEWS. That is not fair because this is somebodys family who has worked hard for over 50 years. The one thing I will agree with is the girl who answers the phone ,sure does not like her job, she is rude and doesn't like for you to ask questions about anything. I've only ordered delivery because of a car accident so I can't speak on the establishment atmosphere itself. I know back in the day we loved going in because they would speak Italian and we would bring our friend who spoke Italian and the things they would say that they didn't know we could here were crazy stories we loved to eavesdropin. They also loved beautiful woman who they would also speak about but in a great way. I can tell by reading the reviews and comments that have been on here lately are being made from someone that has a grudge against them and are having people that I'm sure never been there to put bad reviews up. I would ask people to go there themselves and form your own opinion. I've had things not up to par but nothing to do with the taste and quality of the food. I would not being going there for 50 yeara if the food tasted the way the reviews said. I hope in the future people leave an honest review because even if you don't have your own business karma will get you another way . Good luck in the future Nick and Joes ... maybe just critique a few things and maybe have the phone person who is the first representative of your business go to a customer service training course on line because her attitude could already set somebody's 2mind to having a bad experience so then they look at every point of service with not so rose colored glassesI wish your nothing but the best and I just ordered your 2 medium pizza specials one with jalapenos... face 5 star for atmosphere because I'm not going to give bad stars for...
Read moreSeriously the ONLY pizza/sub place that understands how to make a simple cheese sub. I had one place deliver a roll with 2 slices of cheese and charge me $8 calling that a cheese sub. I’d hardly consider that a cheese sandwich. Then another place simply refused to make one. They told me to order something called a “veggie” sub that had NO actual cheese other than globs of goat cheese, which I’m not a fan of. Nick and Joe’s, however, gets it right. Perfect amount of different types of cheeses (American, Provolone, and Mozzarella). The tomato and lettuce on the sub is always fresh and in good portion to the cheese. I’m also in love with the fries at Nick and Joe’s. Fries are another thing other pizza places have a hard time getting right. Soggy, hard, over cooked, or raw... every time I ordered fries from other places I would get very sad versions of fries. Not so at Nick and Joe’s. The fries here are cooked perfectly... golden brown, which gives them a slight crunch while still being soft on the inside. Perfect. They also have awesome curly fries which are made to perfection as well. I should mention that the portions are very, VERY generous, so as good as they are, it’s difficult to finish an order by myself... BUT I’m not complaining! I’m just suggesting to share with a loved one or friend. I’ve also had the pizza here. It was okay. Nothing spectacular, but from my recent experiences with local pizza places it was the...
