This is my first and last time eating at this restaurant, sadly! The food was amazing but the manager, Robert Jones ruined the experience for me. He was very rude and disrespectful. The way he treated us was enough for me to never want to come back...
We had a reservation but was never asked, instead we were demanded to sit down and wait for an available table. We tried to tell him we had a reservation only to be ignored. Then, when finally acknowledged, he responds "Okay! Thank you for reminding me ma'am!" We were finally seated at four top table - we were a party of 2. I asked if we could sit at a booth instead and his response was "I don't think y'all will be comfortable in a booth but if that's what you want then fine" (What an ignorant response!) He then sat us at the booth. The waiter we had was a doll and the food was amazing. Things were better and I allowed myself to foget about the previous interactions with manager. We order dessert to go and then things went down hill again. I motioned to the waiter but he came instead. I explained that I didn't like the desert and asked of I could order something different. He responds "well what happened here??" I said "I tried a small piece and I didn't like it" I proceeded to hand him the dessert. He says "well, I can't do anything with this now" he pushes the dessert back. Then says "hold on" walks away and comes back with a strawberry cheesecake, drops it on the table and says, "you can have this but you can't get another dessert" I said "well, I don't eat cheesecake. If I can't get another dessert, can we get a refund?" he says "No! You can't get a refund on dessert"... Thank God my aunt liked cheesecake and decided to switch her dessert with me but it's the principle of the manner. She should not have had to do that. And even if that was the policy, he was still very rude about it and just rude the entire time. As a manager, this just unacceptable. I am very displeased with my experience here and won't be back, no matter how good the...
Read moreMy family and I celebrated my dad's 70th birthday, we had a party of 32 people at this restaurant. Upon entering (a nearly empty restaurant) with a group of 10 out of the 32 the manager Robert Jones incorrectly assumed we didn't have a reservation without asking for our names or anything. He just saw a group of people and panicked. I then explained we called the restaurant and asked for approval to come earlier. He then cut me off telling me I should've notified Open Table that's what they pay Open Table for. (still not realizing we had an existing reservation and in addition Open Table tells you to contact restaurants directly for day of modifications) After I corrected his assumption and provided him with the reservation information he then became agitated asking why were we so early (30 mins early) I then explained to him we called an hour ahead to see if it was okay and then told us "sure you all can come now". He then stood there thinking, walked away, huddled with his team, and then returned to me (with a dumb look on his face) saying he can confirm what I mentioned was indeed true and they would have us seated momentarily. Which was totally okay, we were not in rush or anything we were simply checking in.
Overall our servers were absolutely EXCELLENT!!! They all did an outstanding Job. However; Robert who is the general manager was extremely pushy, rude, arrogant, and unfriendly towards us and we even witnessed how he talked to his staff.
Robert and Robert alone is the reason for such a low rating for Atmosphere. It costs nothing to be kind, particularly to those who contribute to your pay check and your 20% charge...
Read moreFirst being only a single person dining alone being hit with an 18% gratuity is a fee not a gratuity having been in the Food Service most of my life I understand gratuity I probably would have left a larger gratuity even though they gave me a brand new server no fault of her own she wasn't trained she couldn't properly open a champagne bottle because she had never done it I had the lamb appetizer quite large they could cut it in half charge less than it would be more of an appetizer than a meal it was very good though the vibrant flavors overshadow the lamb to the point where you barely taste the lamb I started with a glass of wine that was disappointing my choice followed with a Cabernet that was excellent and it was half price bottle night so I got a sparkling because at that point I still haven't chosen my dinner the sparkling was wonderful but glad I only paid half price the dinner was sea bass I did not expect the plating it was mediocre at best again flavor not a lot perhaps I should have stuck with a more traditional Italian Dish. As for the atmosphere, I had to ask for the music to be turned down, it was so loud my server could not hear me. The music was not conducive to an Italian fine dining experience. I read other reviews saying the service was slow well I wish I had videoed some of it the other wait staff Clowning Around in view of the dining room yet not paying any attention to my frantic waves to get everyone's attention when I finished my wine if I'm back this way again I might give them a second shot but I wouldn't go...
