I've lived in this neighborhood since before this restaurant opened and have eaten there off and on for over twenty years. It's changed hands often and only briefly been run well, but that was years ago. For the past 3 years or so every dish I've ordered has been poorly done - wrong dish altogether, undercooked chicken, wrong sauce, under or overcooked pasta - always something. I just ordered my dad the only meal he wanted for father's day but couldn't get yesterday, angel hair pasta with meatsauce and extra meatballs. It gets here and no extra meatballs, not a huge deal but they were still paid for. They read back the ticket sent to the kitchen and it was accurate so, once again the kitchen couldn't fulfill a correct order. There's no quality control, so no one bothered to check the order before charging for it. Again, this isn't threatening to ruin anyone's day but the fact remains that I haven't come across anyone there who cares about what they're making or serving. Just a poor experience every...
Read moreMainly sit in the bar area but have also been in the dining area. Service and food are good and prices are reasonable. This is a nice Italian restaurant with a really good menu that includes American food also. Atmosphere is comfortable. Enjoy.
A lot has changed since I wrote my review. J&P pizza in Spring Ridge has removed the 3/4 wall that separated the bar area from the dining area. They are making it much more open and more of a sports bar feel. They also added 10 new TV’s and the Sunday ticket, so I would say it’s pretty much a Sports Bar. Should be great for watching sporting events and just in time for football season. Also they are going to be opening early for breakfast with a great menu. The only problem is that they have hanging lights in what was the dining area and they block the view of the TVs from many of the seats, hopefully they will correct...
Read moreI don’t know what’s going on with this J&P location but it is vastly different than the one in Mount Airy. I went here last week and got a pepperoni and pineapple pizza it wasn’t really cooked all of the way. And the cheese seemed watery? Very little pepperoni vs pineapple. This pizza had little to no taste which was disappointing. When I go to Mt Airy, it is always perfectly made. The standards must be different in spring ridge.
I decided to give this location another try because I absolutely love J&P Pizza. I got a pepperoni pizza and a sausage pizza. The toppings were haphazardly thrown on the pizza and it was EXTREMELY greasy as you can see in the photo. The cheese slid right off the pizza and it was very wet from the grease. The sausage pizza was the same. Greasy and sausage was slapped on without care.
Very disappointed in this location of J&P, I hope...
