I have tried half a dozen or more sushi restaurants between Hagerstown, Greencastle and Waynesboro but Sushi Palax is by far my favorite!! My husband even went by to pick up my order one time to surprise me and the staff not only remembered who I was but that my order was slightly different than what I typically order. Talk about attention to detail! Their sushi tastes better than anywhere else local and their prices are still average compared to local rates. It may be limited seating inside but the small establishment makes up for it in great quality. It was a little difficult to find at first (around the side of the building). And if you are from Maryland, only a short walk away you can find snowballs next door. A double win!
2022 edit: new online ordering is very pushy for personal information and the preferred method of ordering, I tried leaving a new review to express my disdain but it never showed up so I'm changing this one and dropping the Stars to three. I will not...
Read moreGot takeout for dinner through delivery, ordered from their website and did have to pay additional for delivery. I ordered Salmon teriyaki bento box and shrimp teriyaki (no bento). The Bento has shumai and a California roll as a plus. Overall, the food was good, but I think the teriyaki had too many onions. I would have preferred more carrots and broccoli. The salmon didn't have anything other than onions in it. It was very nice of them to include the tempura as a bonus, which I didn't order. There were vegetable pieces and two shrimp tempura pieces, so they were quite generous. The miso soup and salad were standard. Since the restaurant is a combined Chinese and Japanese food place, they included fortune cookies, which is cute. Next time, I think I'd like to go in person and try out their various...
Read moreRefused to deliver to me because they said "an accident happened in my area." Awful service and lady was very unhelpful. Just said she couldn't send my delivery because of an accident. I am a customer service representative myself, and this is not how you run a business. The customer is not responsible to pick up the slack of the store. And telling a customer they have to pick up their order because you "can't send a delivery driver here, because traffic is stand-still." You still need to send my delivery, and the most you should be able to muster up is a "it may take a while" not a "you have to pick it up." When it comes to any business, ANY, your employees are not irreplaceable, HOWEVER, your...
