The Platinium Restaurant — Restaurant in Maryland

This was my second time at Platinium. The first time I went, I ordered the suya, jollof rice and plantains. The food was very good. I decided to return again to experience the nightlife. I ordered my food at 11:41pm which consisted of suya, jollof rice and plantains at the bar. We told that the seats at bar was removed at 8pm, therefore, there were no seats to sit and eat.

Staff: The servers were very nice and friendly, and that is where the positives will end. 2 stars because the servers were nice.

Music: The music was dated. There are so many new artists out, the DJ should be open to also playing music such as Burna Boy, Wizkid, etc…..

Food: I had to check on my food 4 times, finally I got up to leave and I was given my food at 12:50am! Unacceptable! First, I was given chicken suya, I didn’t order chicken suya! Secondly, the jollof rice was MUSHY and full of tomato paste. I can excuse the fact that the jollof was not tasty, as we all know Liberians have the best Jollof rice but mushy RICE at an African restaurant???? That’s grounds to have your African card revoke! The plantains were oily. The suya chicken was full of bones, barely any meat. The cayenne pepper was the best part of the food.

I wanted to experience and support the local African restaurant in my neighborhood but sadly to say, I will not be returning, the mushy rice is...

The place has a nice vibe and I enjoyed going. However its changed a lot. The DJ rarely plays Afrobeats on weekends. If you want to just order food to Carryout you still have to pay 10 to get in. They have an inside and outside but only have one DJ. So the inside club/lounge doesn’t always music inside. It takes forever to get your food. I waited 1 hour to get Suya w/ two sides. The bar is not well managed. The bottle girls will not service the bar UNLESS you are one of their REGULAR customers. I prefer an off night with less crowd. That’s the only time you will get good service. They need help in the hospitality department...

Me and my friend are usual customers but that’s beside the point . We got there two weeks ago on a Saturday night and there was no one to attend to us for over 30 minutes and our table hadn’t been cleared of the empty bottles and dirty tissue on the table, eventually I had to walk into the lounge and ask one of the waitresses and asked her for assistance to clear the table and get our orders and before I could ask for the drinks , she basically pointed to the trash bin across us and told us to throw the used bottles and stuff into the trash bin … don’t know her name but she had tattoos all over her arms and legs .
