Tropical Smoothie Cafe — Restaurant in Maryland

I had an awesome experience this morning when ordering my smoothie. I pulled up to the drive thru where you're supposed to know exactly what you want. But, I pulled up and was very indecisive.

A friendly, joyfully voice asked me for my order. I'm like, oh I have no idea. She goes, no problem let me know when you're ready. She helps someone else and comes back quickly. And I processed with too questions about a favors.

She was so gracious and walked me through a few popular smoothies and in detail. I asked some clarifying tastebud questions only to order the basic Strawberry Banana. She goes, that's so boring, sensing that I really didn't want flavor. So, she recommended Sunrise Sunset. I'm like, ok let's do that.

So, I pull up to the window and she smiles! We exchanged a big laugh and I asked for her name. Carla!

Well, I said, you made my morning. See, I had a challenging morning and Carla's free spirit changed my entire day. We exchanged a few more words and then wished each other a great day.

You know that saying be kind because you never know what someone is going, Carla had no clue how crappie my morning was but she was so vibrant and awesome.

And my smoothie was delicious 😋

I had a terrible experience today with the Tropical Smoothie located in Pasadena, MD. This week, I've been seeing countless ads regarding a free smoothie once a day, everyday, with food purchase. I redeemed this successfully yesterday. I was hoping to use it today but the offer will not show up in my app anymore for some reason. I decided to call the Cafe before leaving my home for no reason, and was told to come to the Cafe and the gentleman would help me. So I placed my order and drove to the Cafe, just to sit in the drive thru for 30 minutes while the same man I spoke with on the phone told me there was nothing he could do. He had his manager on the phone, and they refused to honor the free smoothie with my order even though I showed them my app wasn't functioning properly AND was told to come to the Cafe. All this resulted in was me not receiving my food and them refunding me, then watching them THROW AWAY all of the food, just because they couldn't allow for a free smoothie. Absolutely disgusting. I used to buy from this chain all the time but at the moment, I don't see myself ever going there again. I'm so disappointed that this is what a loyal customer...

If I could give no stars, I would. Don’t use this location on Jumpers Hole Rd. They short you on ingredients. Tell you to come get a refund or remake. And then retract when you arrive back to their store. We couldn’t stomach what they made and it tasted as if it was day old smoothies.

So we went to our normal location to get at the same smoothies we get every day just to prove a point. Our normal location laughed at us. We know better than to cheat on them again.

They act as if their smoothies are just a few dollars. We spend $20 a day on these smoothies (kale, spinach, whey protein and oats) and to treat your customers as if they don’t matter is unacceptable. So no need to to me not to come back because I won’t, ever!!!

The customer service is seriously lacking and management is even worse!!!!!
