My family and I often order pizza from Village as we feel they're one of the best in the Reisterstown/Glyndon area, and we've always been pleased. We will never order from here again after this past weekend.
First off, the person who took my order was completely unprofessional over the phone. He sounded in a hurry, less than eager to take our order, and was incredibly abrupt. It was very evident that he was either having a bad day or he was very annoyed at having to do his job.
Second - after over an hour of waiting for our food, I called to see what was taking so long. The same person who took my order answered my call, and then proceeded to tell me that he was waiting for me to call them back because of an apparent issue they were having on their end with their system and running my credit card. I then asked why I received no phone call letting me know there was an issue, and for a legitimate 15 seconds, I sat in silence until I said 'Hello?' He couldn't give me an answer. So, for over an hour we waited for our food, only to find out that our food was A) not prepared, and B) not on the way. I continued asking how this was our fault in that we were not contacted about an issue that was happening on their end, but yet decided to wait it out to see if we would call back, wondering where our order was. The person on the other line continued acting completely clueless (and NOT apologetic in the least), until I put my husband on the phone to handle the situation, because I was infuriated. My husband was then able to speak with the owner/manager of the establishment, who unfortunately couldn't seem to comprehend the fact that this was still their fault, and once again, placed the blame on us for not reaching out because of an issue THEY were having with the credit card system. They were willing to put the order in again after asking to confirm the last 4 digits of the credit card, but there was still no apology offered or even some kind of credit to be issued. After going back and forth for what seemed longer than appropriate, I got back on the phone, demanded that they cancel the order, explained that my family is in the restaurant industry and that I have never ever seen this kind of customer service in my life. Regardless of what the issue was - wrote credit card number down wrong, problem with system - YOU CALL THE CUSTOMER BACK. This is Restaurant 101 and this establishment is severely lacking in basic customer service skills. Completely appalling, totally unprofessional and inexcusable.
Since it was already nearing 9:30pm at this point (we put our Village order in at a little after 8p), and I had a very hungry child, I decided to call J&P's in Glyndon. Their delivery usually closes about an hour prior to the restaurant closing, but the person on the other end who took my call could not have been nicer or more willing to accommodate. He quickly asked his delivery driver if he would be willing to do one more delivery, and he was. We had our food delivered to us in less than 25 minutes, and we were more than happy to give a very generous tip. This is exactly what customer service is.

However I called the Village pizzeria on Main Street in Reisterstown Maryland ordered their two large one topping pizza special I sent my wife to go pick it up so one was a plain cheese pizza and one was half pepperoni and the other half sausage when my wife got there to pick it up I told her make sure you open the boxes and check and and good thing she did that the cheese pizza was fine but the one with the toppings part of the pizza was folded over And the guy there just took it and peels it back into shape now mind you this is a hot pizza you know what happens once you peel it back my wife said the pepperoni portion she could count three pepperoni and barely any sausage on the other side the right thing to do would be I’m sorry let me make you another one no one offered then because it was a two pizza special by wife said no I’ll just take the cheese they should have discounted the one Pizza due to the special But they didn’t even do that and when I called them the owner came on the phone when I explain to him what happened he acted like I did something wrong and told me to act professional amazing there are other pizzerias with the blocks believe me I will take my business there I hope this helps...

I called to place my order with a woman and for some reason despite me clearly ordering a cheese steak , cheese fish and chicken tenders she kept omitting part of my order. I repeated my order 4 times and she got it wrong 4 times . At that point I requested she put someone else on the line. I clearly and thoroughly repeated my order. The man on the other end repeated the order back omitting a sub and adding a tender. I corrected him. He then repeated the order correctly . After all of the back and fourth they literally sent the wrong order to my house. I called them back only for him to tell me they didn't make a mistake but I did and it was my fault that I ordered 2 cheese steaks. Not only did they screw my order up by being incompetent.
