I have always enjoyed Margarita's food and have never had a problem until a few Sundays ago. My family and a few of our friends all came for lunch after church. We had all purchased a Groupon that was going on for the restaurant, $20 of food for $10. After eating we went to checkout and the first of our group went up and paid using their Groupon without a problem. After ringing them up the cashier noticed we also had Groupons to use. Without any explanation he just walked away from the counter. A manager (Hector) came up a few moments later and told myself and 1 of my other friends that we would not be able to use our Groupons because they only allowed 1 to be used per table. This had obviously been an issue before because he walked up with a paper that had some highlighted lines about the Groupon. He showed us the paper... The amazing thing was that it said nothing about "per table" and only said "per visit". I explained to him that it said "per visit" and this was MY families visit (myself, my wife, & my son). He did not care at all that his paper said that or anything that I had to say and continued to refuse the Groupon. What infuriated me the most is that he did it without any apology or sympathy. I politely told him that, being the manager, he should take care of us being that it was only $10 we were saving. He still refused and claimed it wasn't his decision to make. (But he was the only manager there?) I proceeded to ask him for the next person in charge and he said he was the highest there. I asked for a direct number to contact someone higher and his answer was "they are all in Mexico." (Are you serious?!!) I finally told him that I would pay the full price but would not come back because of they way he was treating us. He didn't care nor said a word to me about the issue. He asked what we had to drink and totaled up our visit.
Again, I have always enjoyed the food here and have never had an issue with the service before. But because of the way we were treated by Hector, none of my friends that came that day, nor I, will come back as long as he is there. It is unfortunate and sad that he was willing to loose a long time customer over $10. Working in customer service for years and being an assistant manager at Walmart I will never understand how he was...
Read moreLouis our waiter was very good even though it was at the end of the day. He made good suggestions and was very pleasant. The food was good. Very large menu with so much to chose from. I can rarely say I could not finish it all but this time I can. No way I could eat it all because the servings were very large. The tamales here were very plump and larger than I find at most other restaurants. I had been here years ago and it was not that good at all. It would seem that there are new people running it and they are doing it right. Place was packed and it seemed everyone was enjoying there food and having a good time. I was so into the food that I forgot to take some pictures. Oh well, There will be a next time. Thank you Louis. Oh I forgot to mention, The prices are incredible. Not sure how long it will be until they realize how inexpensive they are. Right around 15 average total per person meal drinks and tax. This place it great.
I have to ask something about the review with the service dog. Did you pass out because of the lack of oxygen or from the "sleeper drinks"? Also if you have an oxygen issue that requires a trained service dog to act as your Oximeter, what are you drinking for? One more thing, if you are drinking how are you supposed to be in control of your animal? I stand by the management in asking you to not bring the dog inside. It is the right of the management to make the decision to not allow the dog inside. If the dog is not required to be there to help you with a duty or task it can be rejected from the establishment. If you have an oxygen issue you surly would not be going out and drinking alcohol as your doctor, pharmacist and warnings on your medication...
Read moreI went to this restaurant Sunday, 7/9/2023 with my best friend. We ordered our drinks and shortly after the waiter came back to take our orders. This waiter was tall and bald. Didn't catch his name. My friend ordered first and then I told him how many tacos I wanted. He looked shocked and asked several more times. I didn't really appreciate this demeanor. I repeated the number of tacos I wanted and he continued to shake his head and act surprised. So we get our food and everything fine. We never got refills and never saw our waiter again. We were there two hours with one drink. My friend flagged down another waiter (this gentlemen had a small ponytail) for to go boxes and our ticket. This same gentleman with the ponytail didn't apply my five follar off coupon of a twenty-five dollar or more purchase. This purchase was over fifty dollars. For this specific location ONLY. I purchased a coupon book from a friend's child who goes to William Blount. So not applying the coupon was a big let down from everything else that we experienced during our lunch. I didn't get a reason why he didn't apply the coupon, he just didn't. I tried to hand it to him TWICE and his eyes were glued to the computer screen and walked away as soon as he laid the ticket down to sign. My friend and I looked at each other dumbfounded. I kept my mouth shut and left peacefully. My friend and I both agreed we were unhappy with our service and won't...
