From past experiences, the food here isn't the most authentic Mexican food I've had and a bit overpriced based on quality, but it is/was usually alright. I had family come down this weekend, and Saturday was the last time I would buy a meal from here and never recommend it to anybody.
The 1-star rating is solely on management and not on employees who provided excellent customer service. Initially, there was confusion about the menu, but the hostess who answered my call was patient in taking my order for four people. While we were getting ready to eat at my residence, my family and I noticed that most of our requests for what we wanted in our order did not get fulfilled. It seemed like the kitchen did not take their time putting together the food, rushed to get it done, and neglected to quality check.
My family was tired from being on the road and did not feel like going to the restaurant in getting their food redone, but I decided to try (keyword: TRY) to get my order corrected. I talked to the hostess at the front about having my food replaced when the manager (I believe) present was diagnosing my issue. Explaining how the food was well short of my expectations, the manager seemed to suggest that I hadn't read the menu (which we did because how else would my family put together their orders?) and brought up how remaking the food would be "a loss." It seemed that he was trying to say there is a policy about bringing back food, which is fine. Still, he never clearly mentioned that and talked around the issue as if it is on the customer's end and not on the restaurant for incorrectly putting together an order.
Because of the lack of clarification, I took the food back (ended up cooking my food in the oven) to which then the manager "wanted to help fix my order and get it right," but it was already too late when blame tried to get put on the customer. What is worse was that my family did not like any of the food ordered and said their orders got messed up. My sister, a professional chef, told me her beef enchiladas had a BBQ sauce-like taste, which is FAR from authentic. Also, their "order" of fries, even as a substitute, is comparable to the smallest size of fries you get at any fast-food restaurant, costing $4+ here. Before you settle for this place, I recommend trying other Mexican restaurants in the Maryville/Troy area or even taking the drive to the ones in Edwardsville because management is doing the bare minimum in terms of customer service and...
Read moreI met 2 of my friends at Mariachi’s on Sunday afternoon 9/20 around 1:45pm. We sat outside on the patio and had a couple pitchers of margaritas. I had a chicken quesadilla and my friend had a chicken taco. The food was ok, not great, but the service was terrible!!! Our server had an attitude from the beginning it was extremely unprofessional. We asked her for napkins and she acted as if we were bothering her. She didn’t come to check on us after she brought us our food. We had to tag another server to let our server know we wanted a 2nd pitcher of margaritas. It was about 20 minutes after our request for a frozen mango margarita pitcher that we were told they had run out of the mango flavor. Not the end of the world, but it took way longer than it should have to get our 2nd pitcher of the frozen strawberry margarita. When our server finally brought us the bill, my friend and I decided we wanted to split it since it was our friend’s birthday. I gave my friend my debit card and she went inside to pay. After handing me my credit card slip I noticed that I was charged $49.88 which wasn’t correct because I paid for one of the margarita pitchers and my quesadilla. Somehow an extra margarita pitcher was added to my bill, so we notified our server that I had been overcharge and she told us to talk to the hostess inside. The hostess refunded the $49.88 back to my Visa card then charged me the correct amount. I have yet to see my credit of $49.88, which I expect to see by the end of this week. This was my 1st time at Mariachis and I can honestly say I...
Read moreI honestly wish zero stars was a option. I went there for a work party today. We go there EVERY YEAR. This year was a experience that will make me never go back.Originally we told them 12 but 2 more showed up so we had to push a extra table up against ours. They were not busy what so ever. The was the first thing that made the manager mad, he made it very clear he was not happy about having to add another table. As a party of 14 we spent 300 dollars. We had originally told the server one check, but later changed our minds and told the server we wanted separate bills. He advised us to go up to the counter and the cashier would separate the bill. The cashier was so kind about it but the manager came busting through us girls to get to the cashier. He then got a attitude and was extremely rude about us wanting to split the bill, EVEN THOUGH THE WAITER TOLD US TO DO IT UP THERE. He continues to go on and on until one of my co workers began to cry. He then laughed and walked away. How are you about to have a attitude when we just gave you 300 in revenue??as someone who has worked in customer service for 10+years now I understand the aggravations of “the customer is always right”, But the way he acted AS A MANAGER was so unprofessional and uncalled for. I personally will NEVER give this establishment another dime of my money. And as a group will find another establishment to go to next year that will happily take our group. I’m honestly blown away and disgusted by the way the manager acted....
