The Dancing Bean — Restaurant in Maryville

We stopped here on our way to Cade's Cove and with a menu that is so diverse and even has boozy coffee cocktails, I was stumped on what to order. I finally settled on one of the signature "Bearista" drinks, a toasted marshmallow latte. I didn't regret my choice, and my hubby who doesn't care for coffee, liked it as well. We cozily sat by the lit fire and I watched the old timers from the town come in for their cup of Joe. What was even more amazing was that the barista remembered these customers' names! I will definitely be back to try some of their boozy concoctions such as the Spiteful Chai and the Royal White Ukrainian. Kudos to them for crossing out Russian and making it a "Ukrainian” cocktail.

My review is mainly for the service. We were there on Mar 13, 2021 when they first opened that morning. There was only 1 employee working (Kailey) which that is not the issue. There were 2 people ahead of us when we ordered. She lined the orders up on the counter until she took everyone's order that came in there. We all just stood around looking at her wondering when she was going to start making the orders. She took 7 orders ( I counted them) before she would even fill one order. That is not how it should be. She should have been filling orders and telling customers in line that she will be right with them. It took us 20 min to get a plain black cup of coffee and 3 mini croissants. We will not be returning to The Dancing Bean coffee house if ever back in town. Great coffee!! Gluten free friendly! The staff is so nice and the shop is really cute, clean and comfortable. I don't eat gluten free but, my mom has to. We both shared the chocolate chip cookie and it was devine!! It's not just an ordinary chocolate chip cookie, it's amazing! They warm it up and that's even better. I had a nitro coffee, mom had a latte with soymilk. They gave us a taste of a smoothie even! All delicious! We live in Knoxville and are quite busy but we'll make the journey again just for the delicious treats, coffee and the friendly staff. It's incredibly affordable too!
