What’s not to love about Kala! My husband and I discovered this place a few years ago not long after moving to Mason. We’ve been coming ever since!! Such a great local coffee shop with friendly faces, delicious coffee, and food made fresh! Many items are organic and they even have gluten free options. They brew coffee from a local roaster in Newport, Ky … Carabello Coffee! Oh.So.Good.!! Menu items change seasonally and I highly recommend their signature sausage sandwich with their special sauce. Yum! Whether you sit on the first floor and choose the couch or a table, or go upstairs to the cozy loft with a great view overlooking the shop below, choose a window seat for two, or my favorite spot when I go by myself …. the comfy chair tucked underneath the staircase by the little tree and stove, there’s a seat for you!! Even a cute little patio outside. Kala also gives back!!! Each month they highlight a different local charity and a portion of the tips go to support that. They also have locally made items for purchase like jewelry, drink glasses, books, etc. The staff is great and work hard filling customers orders. We love Kala and know you...

Our group was meeting here nearly every Saturday morning. We moved it for a while mainly because it lacked a former quiet spiritual place. The cost of the items seem to rise as the choices and quantity decreased. The staff of baristas are slow and at times destracted by their own conversations to fully serve the customer. The time it takes to get waited on at the counter is excessive (very uncoordinated) the need to go sit down and then have a team member scream out your name to have you come get your order, brings you back into the counter area and fish through people waiting to order is not well thought out. If you do not hear your name then by the time you seek out your prepared item it is cold and had been walked over several times. I mean no disrespect with my review, I am sure the owner and staff would agree it is cumbersome at best. I’m glad they have...

I’ve been here several times. First incident I went in and there was no one in line had about seven people working and no one wanted to make my drink they all kept arguing over who was going to make it. I spoke with a manager who seemed applaud that they would act that way and she handled it so I thought I’d give it another try. Couple more times I requested no whip cream, see them write it in the card but my drink would have whip cream. This last time again I asked for no whip cream and they made my drink about 2 inches less. When I asked where the rest of my drink was she said well you said no whip cream. I guess you get cheated out of your drink even though it cost the same if you ask for no whip cream. I’m done...
