Kool Sips Drive Thru — Restaurant in Mathis

I decided to check this place out and it was well worth it! I went through their drive thru and received excellent service! I explained to the gentleman of checking out their menu on Facebook. He was quick to hand me a laminated menu. I wanted to try something out of the ordinary, Piccadilly, all the way. I asked him what flavor is popular and he stated cherry or strawberry but could get it on any flavor. While my snow cone was being prepared, he asked if I had tried Italian ice. I told him no and he offered a free sample and showed me the menu, he recommended mango but encouraged me to choose any flavor. I tried the mango flavor and it was good, not too sweet with small pieces of mango. The snow cone was fantastic! If you like sour pickles, salty, crunchy and sweet all at the same time. I will be back to try something new or different. Well I went back the next day and tried a mangonado. Wow! A burst of sweetness from the mango and some saltiness from the sal & limón (I guess) and very little heat from the chamoy and Chile powder. I have added a picture. It is not wise to have “Open Now” on your Facebook and Google Maps at 6pm when you say you’re open till 8pm, and be closed with the window barred up and locked, especially when customers like myself who live in Calallen drive all that way just for your delicious and amazing ice...
