We used to love this place but unfortunately it’s under new ownership and has a new chef and it’s not anything like it used to be.
When we arrived nobody greeted us even after walking inside and looking around for someone. Finally we stopped someone and told them we would like to sit outside as there was open seating but they did their best to try and persuade us to sit inside stating the mosquitos would get us. I’ve been coming to PR since I was a child and I’ve never heard anyone from here complain about the mosquitos. Mind you it was very windy outside and we had been outside all day and felt no mosquitoes. It felt more like an issue with us being further outside and maybe they were short staffed. Fast forward 10 minutes our table was still dirty, the table next to us also left with plates and finished beers and then finally someone came and helped us when we were on the verge of leaving but we’ve been coming here for so long we wanted to give it a chance.
We order right away and the food comes in a decent time but what came out was completely uneditable. I’m not sure where they found this chef but I would think in a PR restaurant in PR they would know how to make Mofongo but what came out was a complete abomination. The thinnest layer of mofongo pressed against a bowl and then filled with “soup” (mind you it looks nothing like this on instagram and wasn’t like this for the last few years) that was suppose to be red sauce but was so thin and not boiled down it just completely saturated the tiny layer of mofongo and is probably the worst thing I’ve eaten in a few years. When I told the waitress she replaced it with the same exact thing but the mofongo separate from the red sauce. I cannot express how really bad this was and lacked any type of flavor at all but I do appreciate her trying. I brought all this to her attention but nothing was done to rectify the situation and then the manager came out to charge our card and asked how we were. Explained the situation to him and nothing so I’m not really sure why he asked. I’m used to the service being back here but this place takes the cake. Unfortunately I won’t be...

My wife and I stopped here after searching for a few places to have dinner while visiting this part of the island. We’ve made it a point to visit local restaurants while on vacation here and this place did not disappoint. Service was excellent and the food was tasteful and very delicious. We were greeted into the restaurant and staff was very friendly. They sat us right next to a window looking out to the ocean and sunset was definitely beautiful! They had some type of garlic bread and plantain fish soup they brought over while we looked at the menu, they were both very delish!
We order an appetizer, I believe it was called “a small sampler” really good fritters to start! My wife had a lobster with some “mamposteado” which she didn’t like. The server immediately asked her if she liked it or not which she told her she didn’t, she fixed it right away and didn’t ring us up for that side. I had the Mofongo with lobster (garlic sauce) and I was blown away! It was so tasty, Mofongo consistency was perfect (not too soft not too hard) and it had lobster top to bottom. Our server was amazing! She interacted with us and our son throughout our dinner and made sure everything was good while we were there. To finish things off, we ordered the “Tres leches” for dessert and it was so moist and wet. What a delightful experience and dinner. We will certainly visit them again whenever we come back on vacation! Highly...
Read moreVisiting P.R. after 15 years I was brought to eat here by a family member. In all the traveling I've done and of all the restaurants I've been, never have I seen such good service. The restaurant was jammed packed so they even had people in the parking helping find a good spot. Once we were sitted, the owner Mr. Gonzalez him self came to the table to greet us and continue to check on us through out our dinner. Empty plates were removed promptly and glasses of water were kept topped off.
The food was perfect. After so many years away from the island we wanted to treat ourselves to some good typical food. We felt like we had hit a jackpot. The "Caldo de Pescado con platano" was brilliant, the "tostones de pana" were done right, the "mofongo" and the freshly caught fried fish was delicious! Oh and they said that they thought the fish were small that day so the plate brought two fried fish instead of one 🙌.
Everything was so amazingly good that we thought we was being confused with perhaps someone famous. But apparently this is the way they serve everyone.
Oh and coming out of the restaurant next to the parking you have the ocean water to hear and look at.
The experience was so good that it deserved every minute of my time that it took to write this review. Really, kudos to Mr. Gonzalez and staff for such a great place. This in my opinion is a place to...
