I'm not kidding you when I say they make badass hamburgers here, and I'd be using the word "literally" in its proper context. To understand what I mean, consider this: most fast-food restaurants have two windows at their drive-through; one for handling payment, the other for delivering the goods. But sometimes the owners or managers of an establishment decide to cut corners (and staff) to increase their bottom line. As a result, the person handling the money - which is filthy - is often seen handling the food, which we put into our mouths. Such is the case at Burger King - or at least the one on 23rd and Trenton in McAllen. I rarely dine out or get meals to go, but recently made an exception here, and boy did I regret it. I should've known something was off when the guy taking the cash and filling the bags and drinks made himself scarce for more than 5 minutes. Whether he stepped away to help with food preparation or made a quick dash to the porcelain throne, I can't say; the point is that there was at least one potentially unwelcome way for my food to get blessed. I wonder if people ever make the connection when they blissfully chow down a Whopper - only to give birth to a doozy later! I'll spare you the graphic details of my own gastrointestinal misadventure so as not to kill your appetite, but if you ever order from the King, make damn sure your drink is Pepto Bismol. Eating out in general is risky business, and if you're in the habit of doing it you should only stick to venues where hygiene is not a four letter word. BK is not a place l'd recommend for that reason. I won't tell you where and where not you should eat; that's your own business. I'm just alerting you to the problem. Hopefully you'll see the benefit of shunning certain places and avoid certain hazards. Ultimately, you'll do as you please. As for me, I just might take a shot of bourbon with my next carry-out. The way I see it, anything with at least 40% ABV should kill those nasty...
Read moreI recently visited the Burger King location on Main Street and was incredibly disappointed by the overall cleanliness and condition of the restaurant. I noticed that the floors were dirty and covered in what appeared to be crumbs and debris. The tables and counters also looked like they hadn't been properly wiped down.
But the most concerning issue was the water dripping from the ceiling tiles. There were a couple of spots where water was actively dripping down, creating puddles on the floor. It seemed like there was some kind of major plumbing or roof leak that the staff had failed to address.
Given the dirty environment and obvious lack of maintenance, I have serious concerns about the food preparation and sanitation practices in this Burger King. I would not feel comfortable eating anything from this location, as it seems they are not upholding basic health and cleanliness standards.
I will not be returning to this Burger King, and I would strongly caution others to avoid it as well until major improvements are made. Burger King should be ashamed to have such a poorly run, unsanitary location representing...
Read moreDo not visit this store!! Since T-Mobile has had the T-Mobile Tuesday i have been here for the coupon offer. The workers are constantly rude, when i ask for condiments to go i get ugly looks from the employees. I have tried this store three times doing all i can to give it a chance but today was the final day i give this store business. I go with my kids for the T-Mobile Tuesday. Well the dining has been closed due to covid. I understand that one coupon per customer at the drive thru, but with the dining closed i guess there is no exception. When i asked to speak to the manager (carlos) he was very rude, did not answer any of my questions, told me to look it up, said he was the regional manager of all the stores. I never had a problem when i walkedbin with my kids, we all have our phones hut today was the last time i visit. Similar experience a year ago. Do not visit this store, dirty (still), i have given them at least 3 chances within the last month. Bad service, does a dicredit to be Burger King....
