Taqueria La Herradura McAllen — Restaurant in McAllen

I am sure, and by the behavior of employees and nanagement in this restaurant, I know they could care less about any review. Nonetheless, I will state my opinion. Every restaurant starts as an idea, which transforms into a place you can either enjoy or not. They seek customers, care for their customers, and some, continue to do so, even when they reach a point where they have been discovered by many. This restaurant however is not one of those. They have plenty of customers to continue in business, but the quality of service has drastically declined. Portions of food are large, but even the food has lost its taste. Now, they just care about moving volume. I went a couple of days ago, and their drive thru was full, interior of restaurant about 3 customers, and some coming in to pick up orders. My order in particular took 30 minutes to be ready. Don't ever get off your vehicle and order take out, they will give priority to their drive thru even at the cost of all the customers inside the restaurant. This is pretty common in this industry, for drive thru is for fast service, but not when you're under staffed. So giving priority to your drive thru, while you are understaffed will most definitely hurt your other services. Over all, this Taqueria has gone from being one of my favorites,since I started going when no one even knew they existed, to one of my least favorites. Will this review make a difference in their perception of what quality service should be, perhaps, but personally, I think not. It is apparent that now they have the numbers and quality is the least of their worries. But let us not forget that South Texas is growing drastically, developments appear daily, and soon you will be a thing of the past. LOVE the food and the friendly customer service. Also love that they’re open late and I can still sit to eat after normal hours.

EDIT: (A few months ago I rated this place five stars and left the above review but I would just like to mention that I will never be visiting again. The past two times I have visited the food has been literally soaked in oil I mean you pick up a taco and it’s dripping, not with juice or salsa but with straight up oil. So much so that when you go to take a bite you can’t even taste all of the ingredients you just get an overwhelming flavor of oil. My girlfriend and I come here regularly and tonight I guess the staff decided to instert a toothpick into my girlfriends sincronizada and when she took her first bite it poked her on the roof of her mouth. I was washing my Hands and I just hear her scream in the living room so I ran over and she explained what had happened.
