Food was good, however it was only 5 of us eating and they charged us 20% gratuity even though on the wall it was mentioned they would charge 20% if 6 people or over eating. They didn’t give us the receipt, they gave us a copy of where waitress took the order so we were unable to see what they had charged or that they even charged the tip to begin with because knowing that typically they don’t charge gratuity unless it’s 6 people or over we were about to leave extra tip on the table. When we saw the total didn’t make sense for what we had ordered the lady gave us the receipt. Waitress was rude and said that next time we are supposed to say that we are leaving a tip so they won’t charge it, but never have we gone to a restaurant, and before ordering said “hey don’t charge us because we are leaving a tip at the end” because it’s based on service either way and we understand that over 6 people it’s typically 15% gratuity but not when it’s clearly stated in the wall and yet they aren’t honoring what they are saying. Ordered a beef caldo-tasted bland. Meat was not the shank bone used for caldo it was chuck roast..hard and dry..service was slow eventhough there is a sign on the entrance for being short staffed. Other plate was a Polito plate..2 cheese enchiladas. Beef fajitas rice and beans.refried Beans tasted like canned bean.one quesadilla. Cheese smelled ugly and was sour. Had to spit it out of my mouth. I reported this to the waitress and she said "I will check". When I paid I reminded her about the quesadilla and she said the cook said there was nothing wrong with the cheese. Will not ever return there again..$30 for two plates..not worth it. Great iced tea. Oh and waitress moping the floor and a strong stench of clorox while we ate. Made me nauseated. Waitress did not wash her hands after mopping to serve more iced tea..not hygeinic at all. She did wear a mask...

I went for lunch 2 weeks ago and there was only three other tables with people, I ordered a caldo tarlapenio ( might not be spelled correctly) first it took an extremely long time to be served, the other two people with me ordered enchiladas and mole, my caldo was lukewarm full of chips no avocado and served with 1/4 cup of rice, I sent it back and asked for it to be heated up, took about 15 minutes, than when I tasted it tasted bad and sour, and it smelled rotten, I was very disappointed, this restaurant was highly recommended, we found out the owner was not there, I still paid, the waitress isn’t to blame, she actually agreed that the caldo smell bad… never going back or recommending...
