NOTE: CASH ONLY. Great ice cream. They have blended swirls (like DQ blizzards), regular ice cream, milkshakes, sundaes, and banana splits. As others have said, the portion sizes are huge. I got a small strawberry banana swirl, which comes in a 12 oz solo cup and it extended out of the top of the cup a good bit (this is on the left in the photo). My wife got a small cup of peach ice cream (on the right in the photo) and this was also a huge portion. Two small size desserts are honestly enough for four people. I'd recommend asking for a couple of extra cups and spoons and grabbing a bunch of napkins. The inside of the store is fairly small, so not many people can wait inside. They currently have a limit of 4 people inside at a time due to COVID. Also, they do not show prices anywhere. I paid roughly $7.50 for a small swirl and a small cup of ice cream. Very reasonable given the fact that it could reasonably feed 4 people. As for parking, there is some street parking available on the main road, but we parked in the plaza behind it where the Dollar General is located and walked over. There is no place to eat inside, but there are a few picnic tables out front. Overall, a nice little ice cream shop with good tasting desserts, plenty of flavors, large portions, and reasonable prices. Definitely worth trying...

After a long and brutal day at the construction site, few things can manage my husband’s frustrations well enough to prevent the inevitable arguments we have about the day’s problems. When I suggested we take a break from the screaming and walk to our local ice cream shop, you wouldn’t believe how his whole demeanor changed! His face lit up with a radiating glow that I haven’t seen since we replaced his dead mongoose with a Harley Davidson Motorcycle! Upon arriving we found M.A’s Ice Cream Shop to be a quaint and homey ice cream parlor right in the middle of cozy ole McDonald, Pennsylvania. We couldn’t help but laugh with joy as we practically skipped the whole way from our home a few mere blocks away. The decor and overall aesthetic is something that would leave even the best home designers in awe! The delicious ice cream, along with our marital troubles, began to quickly melt away. And the proportions!!! MY OH MY THE PROPORTIONS!!! We began to question our own reality as we saw what they described as their “smallest cone”. After our delectable semi-date getaway we were left feeling like our relationship has been rekindled.
Perhaps we’ll get ice cream everyday!...
Read moreI waited years to review this because I didn’t want to bring down their rating but every time I go there(rarely but it’s so convenient it’s hard to resist), I leave so angry. Im sure every review mentions how they give a ton of ice cream. And maybe if I lived next door and could just pop it in the freezer that wouldn’t be so bad but having a child size that’s bigger than most large size is ridiculous. My 2 year old ate maybe 1/10 of his ice cream, the rest wasted. I can’t stand waste! My husband and I try to eat left overs but it’s just too much. Especially since we have 4 kids! It is such a melted mess. I sit there thinking I’d rather pay MORE and get less. And I ponder why in the world they’d do this. How it can be beneficial to them. My mind reels. I know, I sound completely crazy and dramatic but if I ask for the smallest amount possible I mean NOT 6 scoops on top of a cone. Totally ridiculous. The owners seem really nice and the ice cream is really good, though. Doesn’t make up...
