Where to begin...(I waited a month before writing this review.) We were seated quickly (only 3 other tables were occupied). Our server hit us on a sour note from the start when we asked what she recommended - she made remarks about items she deemed ridiculous to order while eating out. (I have some dietary restrictions and a couple items she mentioned are "go-to items" for me. We waited for what seemed an eternity for our food (35 -40 minutes) and then we heard the "CRASH" in the kitchen, Judging by the other 3 tables, we knew it was ours, although our server never notified us. She instead went to another table and laughingly bragged about it with a couple we can only assume she knew personally. ("Did you hear that, haha. I just dropped a huge tray of food haha). A few minutes later a different server arrived and informed us of the mis-hap and apologized many times over, she offered us a basket of rolls and dessert to go for the inconvenience. It was another 15 minutes before our original server came over and told us what happened and did not offer an apology. That was the last straw for my husband (he is usually very easy going). He ended up taking her to task on her behavior and she was still unapologetic. Each one of us that night have worked in the food industry at one point or another and realize mistakes do happen. What was unacceptable to us was the flippant attitude of our original server. When our food arrived, my meal was cold, my husband's meatloaf was dry and barely warm and the small side of gravy was congealed. I would have given '0' stars if possible but settled on 2 only because the second server was wonderful, friendly and very attentive - everything else about our meal and experience was 'meh'. Too bad, it has potential, might be a while before we try again...
ย ย ย Read moreI was on my way out of town the day after hiking Mt. Katahdin and I needed to refuel my body and had a hankering for breakfast, so I decided to stop at Grandbelly's Country Cafe.
Vibe: The inside is nice, simple and super clean. I would add on the clean part that the bathrooms were super clean as well - a big plus. It's what you would expect from a country cafe. There is plenty of parking as they have a large parking lot.
Service: The service was uber friendly and the servers recognized alot of the regulars which made it seem like the place the locals frequent.
Food: I had the Cheese Lovers Omelette - a three egg omelette stuffed with mozzarella, American and cheddar cheeses. I had mine with an English muffin and the home fries. I opted not to get the home fries with onions, which I think was a mistake. I felt the home fries were a bit bland and extremely dry. Definitely the low point of the meal. I also had coffee with my breakfast. Both the coffee and the omelette were good, but nothing really to write home about. The English muffin was hot and nicely griddled.
All in all, it was a standard breakfast and I would probably give them another chance if I were in the area again. But this time with onions in my home fries.

The food was delicious. I know other reviews mentioned frozen food but the items we had were fresh made. The biscuits for biscuits and gravy were definitely hand made the way your grandma would make them. You could feel the love in every bite. The French toast was outstanding. The omelette had the perfect cheese to egg ratio and was delicious. The marble rye toast was also fantastic. We took a piece of blueberry coffee cake home with us. The meal was delicious. We wished we had a breakfast place near us that was this yummy. They do get busy so sometimes things get a bit slower BUT it was great food and...
