Let’s start with the positive, my mothers breakfast was good and the waitress we had was amazing! She’s new and really should be working at a higher end restaurant since her customer service skills were outstanding. Unfortunately, when I had issues with my food, seemed the rest of the staff didn’t care. As someone who’s always worked in food service and food safety I was so disappointed with my meal. The turkey club sandwich was not a club, wasn’t even cut like a club, was missing the bacon, the turkey was slimy, and the toast was Texas toast which was double the thickness a club should have. It cut my gums and roof of the mouth up. I pulled it apart to eat some lettuce, tomato and a piece of inside bread, then gave up on it. Remaking it wouldn’t have changed the issues with it and a whole new meal wasn’t offered like Nancy said at the front. She clearly was annoyed at the situation, horrible customer service. Then thankfully I added the check, it was $8 more than it should’ve been. Nancy said she’s not taking the club off the check because I didn’t want it replaced! She took the teas off the check instead… the teas were great, makes no sense besides them clearly not agreeing with the issues of the club. I literally would only come back for our waitress, she was young and was the most pleasant person. I wish I remembered her name because she...
Read moreSo glad we finally stopped into Shep's for lunch today! I've passed it countless times and I've been meaning to check it out. The sign outside looks weathered and let's face it, almost everything on Aurora looks like it's been there since the 60s. I was very happy to see how clean and well decorated it was inside! A lot of care and effort was put into creating a nice comfortable atmosphere, which isn't always something you get in a diner.
It was pretty crowded at 12:30 but we were still able to get a seat right away. Our server popped over right away and we had no delays in service for the entirety of our visit. These are seasonEd diner staff who know what they're doing
The food was great and all of the classic items you expect at a dinner were there. My wife and 7 year old both got breakfast. I got a Ruben. It was all very good, and my daughter was very excited when her pancakes came out shaped like Mickey with chocolate chip eyes, whipped cream ears, sprinkles, and a bacon mouth.
We had a great visit and every aspect of the visit was top marks! Highly recommended if you're looking for a good diner option.
Pro tip: For some reason this is not on the menu, but they serve beer and wine! Wish I had known before I ordered my...
Read moreHave had breakfast here several times and normally an OK breakfast and the prices are fair. Today after being on a special diet and after fasting for a series of test I was craving a great breakfast. I ordered and when my food arrived the hash browns didn’t even look cooked and were cold, the biscuit was flat as a pancake, a small portion of gravy as a side and my two eggs were ordered hard and arrived runny and under cooked, the bacon was not cooked, cold and not good at all. My waitress never came back to check on me. My plate was full of food and my waitress never returned to check on things and another waitress walked by and removed my plate. She knew I was done because the plate(s) had been pushed away. I was on the cell with a work call and so she didn’t ask what was wrong. It was obvious as the food wasn’t eaten. I waited a bit for my check and when she didn’t bring it I walked to the register and the waitress who removed my plate took my money and didn’t ask how things were. I don’t look for FREE stuff and so went ahead and paid for the food. I won’t be going back. So disappointed since I really wanted a...
