Dairy Queen Grill & Chill — Restaurant in Melrose

Ordering here seems like trying to teach someone how to perform surgery! Walked in tonight around 6:30 for some food and ice cream. First of all, it was about 50° in the building. No heat. The people before us even asked where the warmest place to sit would be since it was so cold. Two young adult females were working drive through and register. They seemed very annoyed and not knowlegable. My mom ordered a simple sandwich and had to repeat herself 4 times that she wanted no lettuce or tomato, and wanted cheese. They still didn't type the order in (or make it) right. I ordered a snack and a dilly bar then simply asked for a cup to put it in since it was to-go. The girl charged us for a medium drink. My dad ordered a combo and had to tell the person working register that he wanted a combo, not just the sandwich, many times. She seemed to not understand what a combo was. Then he goes to pay and I noticed that medium drink on the receipt. I stated that was a mistake and I just needed a cup. She stared at me like I was speaking a different language, then accepted the credit card without removing the drink ($2 wasted)! At the same time, an older man was accepting his coffee he ordered from the young lady working drive through. He simply got "we don't have decaf. Here's caffeinated". Then when walking away she starts scowling and yelled at him 3 times if the order was for here or to go, as he was sitting down. We all finally got our order, mostly correct, and left fast! This has really gone downhill in the past few years. We used to stop here all the time on the way home...

So I've had a TON of DQ experience. I lived on the 5 buck lunch through college. My personal experience with the Melrose DQ is a 4/5. The food is still good, but just doesn't have the same quality compared to some of the others in the area. I don't know if it is the equipment or the fact that the employee turn around here seems like 2 weeks because I almost never see the same person more than twice, so nobody learns how to get really good at cooking.

Edit: My most recent experiences have dropped the review from a 4 to a 1. The food seems like its been sitting all day and super crusty. I will not be returning here. Will drive to the far better DQ in...

If I could give this a 0 out of 5 rating I would! Have given this place many '2nd chances' and this was the last! The food tasted like the oil hasn't been changed in weeks, we got 2- 4 piece chicken strip meals and it looked like a children's meal! Lukewarm and the country gravy was like water. And the service...the girl practically shoved our boxes out the window and slammed the window, no smile, and no thank you whatsoever! Think this place needs some training on customer service cause if I ran my business without thinking my customers and smiling I would be ashamed! I'll drive the extra 10 minutes to Sauk Centre as that is by far...
