Came here for the second time. I pass through Menard pretty regularly for work. On my first visit, I wasn't impressed with the food or service, but they were newly opened, so I give them some grace and figured I would try again. On my second visit with my wife, nothing seems to be improved. The service was incredibly slow despite the fact that they weren't busy. The staff are nice, but our waitress was completely lost. We waited at least 5 minutes for menus, at least 5 minutes for somebody to take our drink order, about as long to receive our drinks, and at least 10 minutes at the end to get our check. I bet that we waited at least 30 minutes for our food after we ordered. My wife ordered a steak, and it was so overcooked that we took it home to the dog. The dog didn't complain. I had a burger special. I liked their price of the burger -- it was their daily special -- but I understand why it was cheap. It tasted like a burger I used to get in my high school cafeteria -- no taste and overcooked. When we finally received the check, they accidentally charged us for an appetizer and salad. It took them a little while to fix the check and we had to wait even longer. This place is more style than substance, and the prices are ridiculous. Go to Chilis or Applebees for better quality food, service, and prices. We saw who I presume to be the owner talking to patrons and bussing some tables. I only regret not telling him to his face how terrible our experience was as it was unfolding. The decorations are nice, but I would not recommend this place, and I will not return. I've wasted enough money at this...
Read moreStepping into this Menard restaurant is like walking onto a movie set. The rustic Western décor is beautiful, exposed beams, weathered wood, vintage accents, the whole nine yards. Honestly, the ambiance has the potential of a fantastic experience. Unfortunately, the reality couldn't live up to the gorgeous first impression. It's a classic case of style over substance. Our waitress, while undeniably sweet, seemed completely lost. It was like she'd never worked in a restaurant before. Bless her heart, she tried, but the service was painfully slow and riddled with errors. We ordered drinks from the bar – which, given the setting, you'd expect to be a highlight – and what arrived was... well, let's just say the bartender clearly needs a crash course in mixology. My drink tasted nothing like what I ordered, and my companion's was equally perplexing. The food itself was...meh. Perfectly edible, but nothing to write home about. It was your basic, average fare, dressed up on a plate to look a little fancier than it actually was. And that's the real rub. This place looks like it should be serving up culinary masterpieces alongside expertly crafted cocktails. The atmosphere screams "high-end" and "authentic," but the service and the food scream something entirely different. It's such a shame because the potential is immense. I do not recommend it and more than likely wont be going back. Maybe its a timing thing maybe they just had a bad night. But it was a really bad night if that...
Read moreGorgeous place. We stopped by on our way through and certainly are glad we did. The restrooms are really cute silos and the outdoor patio area is awesome. My partner and I sat inside at the bar (which is also very beautiful and there is a ton of dining space.) I can't imagine that it ever feels crowded because of the great placement of everything. We met someone whom we believe is the owner and he was really friendly and had good energy. Jacqueline, our bartender was super sweet and thoughtful, and provided fantastic service and lovely conversation. We had pork rhinds and queso, both extremely delicious. We had a wedge salad which plated very well and delicious. I had their shrimp scampi and the sauce was YUM, and there was plenty of it, which is something I would normally ask for extra of but did not need to. Overall, wonderful experience and we will be stopping by again the next time we come through this part of Texas for sure!! (Pic of my...
