Taco Express — Restaurant in Menard

FULL DISCLOSURE: We were traveling through the week of 08 Jan 2018 and stopped for a quick bite in the morning. The outside is rustic but otherwise it is a functioning business. There isn't a lot of eating space so it appears the business model is a order and go, which was great for our purposes.

We ordered bacon egg and cheese taco, potato egg and cheese, bean egg and cheese. The tacos were huge, if your looking for a quick meal to the you over for 3 to 4 hrs then order one taco. If your a passenger and want to sleep order two.

We got in placed our order, got our tacos and paid. Inexpensive and quick. In and out-hello good bye.

The tacos: the tacos could be considered burritos in some parts of TX, NM, & CA. But the family liked them and it was just what we needed. We would stop again.

Only note: tortillas could use more salt in the masa. Not much, just maybe half tablespoon of sea salt maybe. Presuming they make a 3 to 5 lbs masa batch. I would explore using more salt, just a little.

I live here in Menard, but I can't seem to figure out what the hours are for this place. Seems like sometimes they close early without much reason, last few times I've craved a burger around 1pm - 2pm I went by there..they were closed already. When I do find them open the food is excellent, they have the best burgers in town. Very reasonable prices too. Not much seating room inside, but they have a drive thru window so can just pick...

The employees here are rude. I guess I'm use to people actually talking and kinda explaining there menu especially if people aren't from there and are going through the town. That little girl could had said more then she did. The taco I had didn't even have the amount of meat you think it should have in it. It's not a picadillo taco without the meat. Not a hi or have a good day. Never will I return there. No matter how...
