If you have to get a motel in town, this is the one you want, others are fleabags spots to the max. Ice machine didn't work (imagine that), WiFi didn't work good enough to use, (I got onto my gmail twice), but WiFi for this place is innovation. Funny how the WiFi password was stickied to the mirror electrical outlet, but had no idea what it meant until a light bulb moment by the wife telling me what it must have been meant for (never had WiFi in this town before that I know of). Beds and pillows totally inconsistent, bring an extra pair of pillows if you can. Upside is.... NOT a roach filled place, things were clean, maid service got it right, hot water immediate, drains worked, direct tv, rooms are VERY large. Just can't expect much from a place that caters to a town of 1,400 ppl. If you want more traditional hotel stay, go to Junction or Brady, 30...
Read morePersonable, accommodating owner and housekeeping. Clean, decent place. The only reason I am writing this review is to object to the sign saying "American Owned", which strikes me as hostile/zenophobic particularly in today's times. Another motel in town used to advertise this as well but apparently took down the sign, according to the local Chamber. I was otherwise treated well here. Staff made accommodations regarding my touring on a bicycle. Wi-Fi was spotty at best. I told Jane, the housekeeping person, I was offended by the "American Owned" thing and she said no once else has complained previously. That said, probably the best choice among several less than inspiring looking offerings...
Read moreRude Greeting! The sign out front says "American Owned" but they are not American friendly, atleast the woman at the front desk. After being on the road for 6 hours and looking for a place to sleep we arrived at the Hilltop Motel. It looked nice from outside so we stopped in. The woman was so rude, she greeted us with an abrupt "what do you need???" We asked if she had a room for one night for the two of us, etc., etc., and her answers were always rough and very unfriendly. She made us feel like we were disturbing her. So I looked at my husband and said lets look somewhere else. Eventhough we were tired we left and stayed at the Budget Inn. We were greeted by a very friendly lady. The room was clean, the bed comfortable and we felt like...
