Whether you are looking for a hotdog, burger or seafood, this place has some great choices for comfort food. I love their onion rings, yummy. They also serve hard and soft ice cream with a variety of flavors. Outdoor dining only, whether under the tarp out front, at picnic tables along the side with playhouses to keep the kids busy, or if not in the mood to get out and enjoy the outdoor atmospere, you can opt for one of the diminishing nostalgic services, their signature carhop. Although, their carhop service cuts off at 8pm, they do stay open later to serve the busy crowd. I look forward to taking our car for a drive up to George's Surf &Turf to enjoy the best fried seafood around. The batter that they use is the same one I remember from 20 plus years ago,and it's delicious that's why I am a loyal customer. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 star was because of the size of the seafood the shrimp where almost to small to butterfly and the whole belly clams where tiny and the order had very few actual bellies it was more like a clam strip order than a whole belly order. If this had been my first time going to George's I am not sure that I would order the seafood again, but as I said I am a loyal customer and I know clam sized fluctuate so next time I will ask about clam size. Went to the Blackstone heritage canal and on the way home we were looking for food and found that George's was nearby. What luck! We ordered at the window and sat at one of the outdoor picnic tables. They have plenty of tables and play 50s doo wop type music which was a nice change. We got lobster rolls, bay scallops and onion rings. Everything was so good and the taste was fresh. The breading was light and crispy like I like. You can tell the oil they use to fry is clean. The scallops were hot and juicy and the onion rings were sweet and crunchy.
