The Pizza Shop — Restaurant in Merrill

I have been eating the Mulford Family pizzas for 57 years. Had my first one, which at the time was Queenies Pizza when I was nine years old. Which then later Ron and Queenies, and now called The Pizza Shop, owned and run By Ron’s daughter, and Queenies’s granddaughter. For the entire 57 years, it is still by far my favorite Pizza of anywhere in this country. And I can say this because I have had Pizza from everywhere in this country. I say this because I drove over the road semi and I’ve had Pizza from every corner of the United States. I still have not had a Pizza that I like as much as the now Pizza Shop (Queenies) yet. I never understand when I see any reviews about this pizza when they say they didn’t like the crust. I think that the unique dough Recipe that Queenie and Ron came up with decades ago, makes the most amazing pizza crust on earth. The sauce and the ingredients I think are terrific and always have been. But, the signature Mulford crust is my favorite part of the pizza, makes the pizza what it is, and makes it so much better than any other Pizza ever! I am so glad that this business is still going third generation and I hope it keeps going many more...

I have loved Ron's/Pizza Shop for 25+ years. But the new generation of employees needs to be taught how long to cook them. 3/4ths of the Pizza Shop pizzas I get these days are mushy, undercooked messes. Just underdone cheese and soggy center crust in a pool of excess grease that didn't cook off. It's gross and didn't used to be this way. I got sick off an undercooked house special once. I don't dare order house specials, sauerkraut pizzas, or double doubles anymore, they almost always end up undercooked. Today I got a 3 meat and it's so mushy you can't even pick up the center pieces. It never used to matter how many toppings you got, they used to be done. Linda, please teach these kids how to cook a pizza.

Our family from Minnesota, Illinois and from the East Coast have to have The Pizza Shop (Formerly just called Queenies) pizza when they come visit Merrill!! It's their favorite pizza in the world! They say nothing taste like it from where they come from! The flavor, the crust and everything is just so scrumptious and unique! It once was our little family tradition, now it's grown into something more bigger and shared with all our newer family members and friends that just can't get enough of it!
