As a huge fan of Black Rock Coffee Bar, I was thrilled to find one so close after moving to Mesa. I’ve visited numerous locations across the state and have always had great experiences, so I was expecting the same here. Unfortunately, this location has been consistently disappointing.
The staff is genuinely friendly, but the service is often slow and disorganized. The speaker system seems to be malfunctioning most of the time, which leads to frequent mix-ups with orders. Even though I order ahead, I almost always end up with the wrong drink or missing items like the cold foam I paid extra for. And given how pricey some of these add-ons are, it’s really frustrating.
It seems clear that ownership needs to either staff up or focus more on training. I want to keep supporting Black Rock, but unless there’s improvement at this location, I might have to take my coffee cravings elsewhere. Here’s hoping they get things...
Read moreSo this place likes to understaff on purpose, and then push inconvenience onto the customer. What a great business model. Drive thru are meant for quickness, but not here. Here they only use the speaker for a single hour in the morning and then shut it down for the day. So if you get there and there's a line of cars, you just get to wait even longer. Because instead of them taking your order and making it while you're waiting and it being ready for you when you get to the window, they take the lazier route of ONLY taking orders at the window. When I asked the person working the window why they do this, well it's because they only have 2 people working. Even tho there was actually a third person inside, but oh, he's not working, just chit chatting and distracting the employees who ARE working. This place is a joke, much like the rest of the corporate business models in...
Read moreThe drinks are very average for the cost. Customer service is just okay. I've been here twice, and both times were less than impressive. The first time, the wifi was out, and there was no notification before I purchased a drink, or I would have left and just gone to Starbucks. The entire time they played extremely loud (can't be canceled out with airpods), terrible (emphasis on terrible) rap music. There were a couple of decent songs, but I don’t know if it’s a personal playlist, but it’s horrible. I love all music but I literally have no idea what is going on with the music situation because my second visit was the same, but this time with the worst tea latte I have ever had for $6. Thank God there are so many great coffee shops, so there’s no need ever...
