This was my first time visiting this restaurant. I was excited to try it, especially since the reviews are strong and the parking lot is usually full. Unfortunately, my experience didn’t match my expectations.
To note, I’m currently on crutches, which can make things inconvenient at times, but I can manage. The restaurant space is a bit tight for crutches, but that wasn’t a major issue. Since the sign said “seat yourself,” the only available table was a large one in the back corner for six people. My party was three, and while it wasn’t ideal, we took it because it was the only option at the time.
The real problem was being asked to move after already getting settled and food ordered. I understand the business side of wanting to seat a larger party at that table, but it felt inconsiderate to push someone who clearly struggled to get there in the first place. We were moved to a high-traffic area, which made things more difficult. If another smaller table had been available, we absolutely would have chosen it from the start. In this case, the “seat yourself” approach created a poor customer service experience.
The food itself was fine, but due to the lack of consideration shown in handling the seating situation, I can only give...
Read moreFood is decent, but service sucks. Most of the waitresses there act like they hate their lives/ and are not very personable. We will not be going back after what we witnessed yesterday. It was a busy time of day so there were some customers waiting for a table. As my husband and I were finishing our meal, a snotty waitress yells at an elderly couple (who had just sat directly behind us) that a different couple was waiting for that exact table. Instead of politely coming up to the elderly couple in a professional manner, she decided to yell from across the restaurant causing scene and drawing the crowd silent. Of course the elderly couple apologized due to not being aware of the customers waiting and sat up at the bar instead. There is no reason an elderly couple of that age should be sitting up at the bar unless they prefer it, but rather than moving them to a booth when available, they continued serving them there. My husband and I quickly paid and left hoping they could have our spot. Though I don’t know the waitresses name, she owes that couple a major apology for the embarrassment and scene she caused when it could have been completely avoided by...
Read moreThe Honeybee Grille has been on my list of places to try for a long time. This week finally presented the perfect opportunity, meeting a friend to brainstorm over breakfast.
I love it when a local, independent restaurant has character to match, particularly when the service and food are up to par as well. This first experience checked all my boxes: friendly, pleasantly quirky, tasty, reasonable, and comfortable enough to linger and talk (to a reasonable degree).
Our waitress Diana was very attentive, knew her way around the menu, and we had next to no wait for our food (about 10 AM weekday). The Southern omelette was tasty, and the specialty Tropical Pancakes were flat out awesome if that's your flavor - basically a Pinã Colada for breakfast. 😋 Definitely...
