Tried Island Tings Miami Gardens via Uber Eats.

Liked their buy one get one promotion, and placed two orders of jerk chicken, with rice and peas and veggies.

First batch of jerk chicken was poor quality, under seasoned and dry. You could tell their jerk rub is decent as it coated the boney bottom part of breast meat, but it didn't evenly coat the piece leaving little to no flavor. The second batch of jerk chicken was horribly burnt and mostly inedible.

Rice and peas were well cooked but under seasoned. Also not much coconut flavor and zero scotch bonnet.

The mixed veggies and corn were clearly from frozen and not worth ordering. They didn't have what we wanted to order as a side dish, plantains, on Uber Eats.

Also ordered their rasta pasta and mac and cheese. Their rasta pasta was actually pretty tasty and well seasoned, just slightly oily.

Their mac and cheese is horrible and they should be ashamed serving it to people.

Delivery arrived within 30 minutes of ordering so food was at least slightly warm and seemingly fresh, minus the dry and burnt jerk chicken.

Island Tings is doing Jamaican food all wrong.

Yesterday was my first and last time going to this restaurant. The young lady that took my order was really nice. I had the oxtail jerk pasta. The oxtail was a little sweet but it was still okay. Rated 6.5/10. There was nothing jerk about the pasta. It was very sweet. After paying $30 for oxtail jerk pasta, I asked for a refund so I can order something else. The “manager” said they do not give refunds because I ate it already. I wanted to show her that I only took a bite and would rather order something else. She told me that’s what the owner said. I asked to speak to the owner and magically it was okay to get a refund now. I was polite the whole time because I do not like to be rude to people that are servicing me but the manager’s attitude stemmed from her thinking I was criticizing her cooking. She explained that she does not put anything sweet in the pasta and made me try the two sauces that have. Their jerk sauce is barely jerk and was kind of sweet. Good time, good food, needs work for your front of resturant staff. More manners need to be displayed to customers and children shouldn't be at the esting area to just run around and bother staff to take them to the resturant while food is being served and paid for at the cash register.

This kid was so disruptive, the cashier had to stop ringing up our order to go take the kid to the restroom. She came back with the same gloves she had on as before. Ewwwww, now thats nasty. Next time I'll take pictures if I see anything like that again. It's my third time going in person and four times I've ordered with doordash so make sure this restaurant is more presentable next time or I will stop going. I've brought 3 family members to your business already.

Beware, the number on the official website is contacted to their Pembroke pines location. We had to drive to that location just to pick up our food instead if this location giving us either a refund or just giving us the food from their open food counter.
