The location and vibe is good as casual setting with lots of outdoor seating around large bar area. There is tons of service staff and all orders are through the wireless order system on tablets. The wait staff came when we sat down to get drink order and then a little bit later to get food order, but never came back to refill drinks or ask if we needed another drink. I originally thought it was a true BBQ restaurant since was such a large bar area, but is really just a food truck - which I have no issues with as have had great food and BBQ from many. BUT Dave's BBQ was poorly executed. The ribs were super dry and not much too them - worst I have had from a BBQ joint in over 10 years - something you would expect from a plain jain restaurant without proper smoker and heat box to keep ribs tender. The Vermonter sandwich sounded great as listed as beef brisket with cheddar & onions on toasted hoagie roll.... but was a disappointment as was more like poorly executed brisket burnt ends which were hap haphazardly through on hoagie and hidden by throwing a bunch of mild cheddar cheese slices over it. I was expecting actual sliced beef brisket on a hoagie roll which would have actually been easier to execute on & better sandwich. The Mac and Cheese with pulled pork was good, but a little "soupy" as cheese ratio was off vs noodles. I thought I ordered something like Mexican Street Corn - but was more or less "Cowboy Caviar" dip - which is not typically served by itself and usually accompanied with...
Read moreWe live right down the street from here and have known Dave’s Diners food is amazing and always see how busy it is, we were so excited the BBQ bar had opened! When we arrived we had put our name and number in and waited (we’re told 10 mins) and waited close to an hour, we were expecting a text when a table opened, we noticed 2 parties that got there way after us had been seated, we inquired and our name was deleted for some reason, whatever. We waited for next table. The system they have is pretty strange and the waitresses/waiters seem a little confused by the process, which is fine, which brings me to think management needs to do a team meeting to make sure everyone is on same page, so you order your drinks/meals when waitress comes to your table, you wait a text for when your stuff is ready and go get it yourself. I think it is a little off putting say an older couple goes or maybe a handicapped person goes who isn’t able to move that well? Just my thoughts. Food was ok, I was expecting a little better, my burger had zero taste, other people got Mac n cheese with Brisket and said it was ok. We definitely will go maybe in a month when hopefully some of the kinks are worked out! The environment is awesome though and the patio came...
Read moreFirst I am in the food industry. My husband and I live on the cape and had driven by this restaurant and by the appearance it looked busy and beautiful. We were excited to get something to eat as we had been on the road for awhile and was hungry. Thinking it was an authentic bbq place and there’s not many around. First it begins with the waitress came up to our table 3 times before we even really took a look at the menu to see if we were yet ready to order. Obviously if we still have a menu in our hands and you already came up twice and we weren’t ready why come up again. That was just the beginning, our food literally took 5 mins to make. My husband ordered the chicken plate with the Texas rice it came out looked and tasted microwaved as the 2 square pieces of yellow cheese was still present on top of the chicken and there was no texture, it was water logged it was definitely frozen. our waitress dropped our food and asked if we needed anything and than came back Twice again within a 5 min period to ask if we needed anything. It was too much couldn’t even relax and than the food on top of it we will never...
