I always hate leaving negative reviews on a restaurant, but the experience we had this past Saturday has led me here. First the young waitress sat us at a dirty table that needed to be wiped. So she asked for our drink order and I addressed that the table needed to be wiped as our other guest would have put her elbow in something sticky. After she turned in our drink order, she returned with a partially wet napkin and made one swipe over the spot and left. Strike one. After about 10 minutes we finally received our frozen margaritas which were now partially melted, and of course no straws. I asked the waitress for straws and her reply was" well I am trying to get your food order now" Strike 2. Waitress seemed to be starting out and had to ask what number that food item was, not a big deal I understand this as a young waitress starting out. So after 45 mins of putting our order in and fighting with the waitress to get more chips and salsa and a refill on drinks as well as straws, she tells us that she is sorry that the food would be a little while longer, meanwhile 2 tables that came in after us had already been served food and were paying for their meal. We waited another 15 minutes for food to arrive, which never did and we had to leave as we were going to attend the Justin Moore concert and didn't want to be late, long story short the chips and salsa were good as were the partially melted margaritas but the wait staff is terrible as well as the kitchen cook times, we were very disappointed about our visit here and doubt we will be back. Overall we were there over an hour and still were not...
Read moreI wasn't a fan of the food. I understand everyone is short staffed right now, but it took nearly 2 hours for us to dine here. We had 3 kids meals and two of the exact same combo for the adults. We sat waiting for a menu for at least 15 minutes before we had to ask for one (no waiter came to check on us). We waited for our bill for about 25 minutes and it never came. We finally had to look around the restaurant to find someone to ring it up at the counter. The waitress seemed disinterested in her job, and didn't know the menu. When we asked questions, she didn't know the answers and made no attempt to find out. That being said, I'm only rating the food. The food wasn't the worst I've ever had, but it was bland and wasn't at all authentic. Two of us ordered the "combo" that came with 2 tacos, a tostada and an enchilada. I expected authentic tacos but instead it was hard taco shells (like Taco Bell), plain shredded chicken, lettuce and cheese. No sauce, no cilantro, no onions, etc. The tostada was a tostada shell, plain unseasoned shredded chicken, and some kind of warm queso and the enchilada was also just chicken in a corn tortilla and a little sauce. The enchilada sauce was good but it was the only thing on the plate that seemed to be seasoned.
I don't think I'd call this a Mexican restaurant and even Tex-Mex would be a stretch. There are a lot of great Mexican restaurants in the area, I'd skip this one and go for something...
Read moreI stopped in here for a drink and some food while passing through Middlebury on a Sunday afternoon. They were moderately busy with about half of the restaurants seating space occupied. The margaritas are delicious and fairly priced (I got the mango flavored one). The salsa tasted so fresh it must be made in-house. It was mild enough for anyone to enjoy, but with just enough spice. The wait staff consisted of mostly high school kids, and although appearing to be somehwat inexperienced/nervous, they were very friendly and attentive. The girl who took my order was very knowledgeable of the menu and what was available in the kitchen, and even went above and beyond to ask her manager when I posed a question she could not answer. The food was delicious! My drinks were served promptly, and after finishing them I ordered the "Speedy Gonzales" lunch special, which consisted of one taco, one enchilada, and rice or beans. I of course opted to pay extra for rice AND beans. Both the hard and soft tortillas are delicious, and the meat was perfectly done and seasoned. The refried beans were a good consistency and nicely flavored. The rice was every bit as delicious as Spanish rice always is. My only complaints are that I would have preferred larger portion for the price I paid, and the enchilada sauce was slightly sub-par. Overall, my dining experience was great and I will definitely return the next time im...
