Wah Mei — Restaurant in Middletown Township

For a local Chinese takeout, it hits the spot. Ordered hot & sour soup, was fine, added some vinegar and white pepper at home to make it the way I like it. There were some meaty strips of chicken in the soup which made it filling and nice alongside fresh mushrooms, not canned. The beef chow fun was nice and al dente. Could've used more sauce, but nothing you can't customize to your liking with hot sauce or additional soy sauce. The General Tso's chicken was good and the egg roll that it came with was crispy, not soggy.

The restaurant and kitchen looked clean and bright. The person who took my order over the phone plenty nice, and gave me an accurate estimate of when it'll be ready for pickup. The food is mediocre but the service in person or over the phone is horrible.

I hardly ever leave poor reviews, especially for businesses in my hometown, however, this place earned it.

They don't understand English very well, which is fine, but a female worker there has flown off the handle twice to me. The last time was over the phone while I was asking a question as to which card I could use to pay.

"I told you already. No delivery till 5 pm. You don't like it; go somewhere else."

That response didn't make sense or apply to what I was talking about but hey, this is the second time this place had the audacity to raise their voices to me. Unacceptable.

I placed an order for delivery by selecting the "online order" button directly from their website. I was able to successfully place my order and got a text confirming my order and that the expected delivery time was 20 minutes. After close to an hour I called the restaurant to ask how much longer the delivery would be and was told that they don't accept online orders, don't deliver, and had not received my order. The woman on the phone did not apologize or even ask if she could start a pick up order for me. They had no interest in making the situation right or even taking an order from me at all.
