Java Johnny's — Restaurant in Middletown

Java Johnny's was mine and my mother's favorite place to meet since prior to COVID. Unfortunately it has really deteriorated over time. I'm not sure what has happened, but the staff seems not to care anymore. The food has become mediocre, and we were kindly told today (after being served floppy, uncooked bacon TWICE) that they do not cook the bacon to order (although they always did before). As someone in my 50s, I also KNOW what a matcha latte looks and tastes like, as I have been a consumer of them for years now. They attempted to gaslight me into believing that an all white, vanilla tasting latte was actually matcha!! These things would never have occurred with the old staff...how I miss the old Java...

I love this place! Amazing staff and great atmosphere! I ordered the iced caramel latte and it was delicious. I've also order the mocha latte hot and iced, delicious as well! Java Johnny's grind their own coffee beans before brewing making the flavor strong. The dining room has lots of seating options as well as a gallery room where there is a quiet room rule. This room is great for studying or getting work done. It can also be rented out for private use where the rules don't apply. Enjoy great coffee in a warm and comfortable environment. I only wish there were open...

I have several other coffee shops near my house with great coffee that I'll grab for something on the go, but if I want to settle in and spend a couple hours in a coffee shop reading or working, I drive from 30 minutes away just to go to Java Johnny's. The Egganini breakfast sandwich with bacon is out of this world good, and the coffee and tea drinks I've ordered never disappoint. Service is great, and it's spacious with plenty of seating and tables.
