Verona Pizzeria serves up delicious pizza and amazing service at a great price in Middletown, Maryland. From the moment you walk in, you can smell the enticing aroma of fresh dough and savory tomato sauce. The cozy atmosphere makes you feel right at home.

I recently enjoyed a New York-style spicy cheese pizza from Verona and was thoroughly impressed. The crust was perfectly crisp on the outside yet soft and chewy on the inside - the ideal NY texture. The sauce struck the perfect balance of sweet and tart. They use high-quality mozzarella that melted beautifully over the pie.

This pizza had just the right amount of spicy kick from the crushed red pepper flakes sprinkled throughout. Each bite gave a nice subtle heat that didn't overpower the other flavors. The cheese and spicy seasoning blended wonderfully for a harmonious pop of flavor.

Equally important as the food is the friendly service. The staff greeted me promptly and were happy to offer recommendations. My order came out quickly and piping hot.

Considering the generous portions, quality ingredients, and stellar service, the prices at Verona are very reasonable. I will definitely be back again soon to try out more of their pizza combinations. Verona Pizzeria is an excellent local find for tasty pizza in Middletown. I highly recommend stopping by - your taste buds...

I've been going to this restaurant for more than 25 years even when it was (James Gang). It was a favorite place for family and friends. The food and service was always great. We do mostly carry-out nowadays but yesterday we went for dinner. After ordering we waited 50 minutes for the 3 subs, fries and onion rings to come out! There only 3 tables seated! I really felt sorry for the new young server since this was the owner's issue. The subs were supposed to be the "Phillys" style. All that came out were subs that had a couple of table spoons of over-cook meat in a roll (see picture). No, onions, mayonnaise, no lettuce and no tomato. There was a dash of hots though. We sent the subs back for an over-haul! We also had 2 classes of water and a an Ice Tea. When we got the check we were charged $1.99 for 2 bottles of water! We weren't aware we had to buy bottled water and didn't even get the bottles! We even got charged $.50 for the hot peppers. I don't like being nickel and dimed---just build it into the price! Overall, it was the worst eat-in experience I'd had in a long time. The only one apologizing was the server...it should have been the manager/owner. I'm hoping this was just an aberration. We did tip the server $20 for a $50 meal. Again...take-out has never...

Food is just ok. Few weeks ago I ordered take out and was told 15-20 mins. I walked in 25 mins after I ordered because based off my previous experiences they take a little longer. Last time I ordered delivery they took almost 2 hours.

I walked in the place is completely empty of customers. Also no employees to be seen. After 5 minutes of standing around a employee finally walks out of the back. She then tells me she needs to go back and check and see if the order is ready. 5 minutes later the cook comes out tells me they had a problem with the oven and its going to be 5 more mins before my order is ready. I should have just walked out then and there.

Food finally came out and was ok, but whole experience was just another reminder of why I don't order from here often and very likely wont order...

Ordered from Verona tonight. We ordered the mozzarella sticks, cheese garlic bread, a cheese pizza, steak and cheese Stromboli, and a side salad. The mozzarella sticks tasted like they came out of the freezer. The garlic bread tasted exactly the same as the garlic bread you’d make in a microwave, and I’m pretty sure that’s where it was cooked. The pizza was so bad my six year old wouldn’t eat it. But the kicker is instead of a steak Stromboli we got a calzone filled with ground meat and unmelted cheese. The meat was clearly from a sack in a freezer because it was a puddle of grease on the undercooked bottom of the calzone. Absolutely revolting and wouldn’t have been worth it at half the price.

Chicken kabobs on salad. The "salad" was nothing but dark romaine lettuce. I had asked for it to be "Greek" - out comes on a separate plate a pile of black olives and feta cheese.... The chicken kabobs were weak, four inch by inch slices of onions per stick, and for the green peppers, three cherry tomatoes. The yogurt sauce tasted like ranch (double checked to make sure ranch was not grabbed by accident, it happens). The redemption, the server was a nice young man. Who unfortunately is going to suffer from low tips because of the food.
