I ordered the chile relleno from Micaela’s Burritos and was really disappointed. The relleno was hard and undercooked, not soft or flavorful like it should be. On top of that, it was loaded with a ridiculous amount of seeds, which made it unpleasant to eat. The texture was tough, and the flavor just didn’t come through because of all the seeds and the dryness. A good chile relleno should be soft and tender, with the pepper roasted and peeled so it’s smooth and slightly smoky in flavor. It should be stuffed with melty cheese, lightly battered, and fried to a golden crisp — not tough and full of seeds. This one missed the mark completely. I work right around this establishment and go there almost everyday for breakfast !!! Except when closed!
