If you’re looking for soul food that truly feeds your soul, look no further than Tubby’s Kitchen and Catering Restaurant! I had the catfish, candied yams, macaroni, and a cold glass of lemonade—and when I say everything was amazing, I mean it was unforgettable!

The catfish was perfectly seasoned and fried to golden perfection—crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The candied yams were sweet, buttery, and tasted like something straight from Grandma’s kitchen. The macaroni? Creamy, cheesy, and baked just right. And don’t even get me started on the lemonade—fresh, tangy, and the perfect balance to all that richness.

Honestly, this is some of the best food I’ve ever had in my life. You can taste the love and tradition in every single bite. Tubby’s isn’t just a meal—it’s a whole experience. I’ll definitely be back, and I’ll be bringing friends!

I don’t understand the 1 star review I read but then I looked at the reviewers account which anyone can see, this person gave alot of 1 star reviews and I am calling that person out!!! My wife and I went to try out Tubby's for the first time today, July 4th. As soon as we walked in, everyone was very nice and the atmosphere made you feel like you went to a friend's house to eat, very home-y. I got their homemade lemonade to drink and it was perfect. We started off with their fried mushrooms since the waitress recommended that for an appetizer. They were really good and you could tell they were homemade and not frozen like most places. We also got their Philly cheese steak, gumbo and their cajun fried rice (I also got a grilled catfish filet on the side). The Philly cheese steak was absolutely amazing. The grilled catfish was definitely one of the best, if not the best that I've had in Midland/Odessa. The gumbo had shrimp, chicken, sausage and an entire little crab. It was very good as well. The cajun shrimp fried rice was also very good. I was really impressed by everything, especially how nice absolutely everyone was. They constantly came by checking on us, multiple people. We will definitely be going back as well as recommending this place to all...

There should be a rating for consistency. And have 6 stars. You always see the one review of just how terrible a place is, then you look at the idiots reviews and see their high end dining experience is Long John Silvers. I’ve eaten at Tubby’s right after they took over Eddie’s joint. It was like walking back in time to my childhood. More catfish than you can shake a cane pole at. Sides for days and better than any dessert, that warm smile and welcome. That’s been a minute for Tubby’s. Literally thousands of plates later, someone has one bad experience and instead of quietly reaching out to management, and have it taken care of, they show their intelligence by leaving a review. Even if I didn’t know the establishment, I would try it based on something like that. It’s takes extremely hard work and dedication to consistently provide great food everyday to the public.
