This was the WORST and I mean WORST experience I have EVER had a restaurant in my entire life. I get there and stand up front waiting to be seated and I waited 10 minutes before being sat and then we get to the table and it’s another 5 before anyone even comes to our table. I ordered the Pad Thai and it smelt like dog food and my friend ordered the Drunken Noodles and it smelt like something had gone bad in it. We barely finished our food because it was so disgusting and plain and smelt horrible and we get our checks and this is when everything gets 10x worse. We get our checks and we were charged for dinner price when it was lunch time, exactly 1:00pm and we also ordered an appetizer that had a $1 extra added on to the normal price. On the website as well as the paper menu it says lunch ends at 3:00pm. So we explain that we got the lunch special and everything else and she proceeded to tell me they changed the prices and they only serve dinner all day long. None of this was ever said to us when she first gave us our barcode for the online menu so who wouldn’t think that it would be lunch price? Then after a few minutes she starts getting angry and starts to literally scream at us and curse at us and she picked up the menu off the table and threw it at me and told us she was going to call the police when all we were doing was simply asking about the pricing because we were mislead by the BOTH of the menus. She went on and on telling me to never come back and to start making my own food at home and running my own restaurant myself. She was pointing her finger in my face and jumping around throwing a tantrum. I will never step foot in this restaurant again and this lady needs some serious help, it was the most unprofessional situation I’ve ever been in and she should not aloud to run a restaurant either. The worst part is that the woman who did all these things was the owner. She disrespected my friend and I by using profanity’s at us and screaming at us in front of the whole restaurant! We never once swore or yelled at her until she started using profanity towards us......the...
Read moreThe food is great. Full stop. The looks of the place are confusing and underwhelming, but don't let that stop you from trying it. You won't regret it.
I had the Bangkok Chicken, a chef's special (more on that in a moment). My wife had the pad see ew. Both were home runs, though I liked hers a bit more than mine. My chicken was crispy on the outside, but perfectly cooked and juicy inside. The sauce, described as a sweet chili sauce, was flavorful, but not quite as spicy as I thought it might be. It also was not overly sweet, which was a relief. The pad see ew noodles were delicate and dissolved easily in the mouth, which was just right as they quickly got out of the way of the savory brown sauce which I just couldn't get enough of.
The menu is robust, but not imposing. There are traditional curries and fried rice dishes, with just enough variety from the chef's specials to give the place its personality. Even if the typical Thai restaurant fare is boring on paper, it is flawlessly executed and a true pleasure to eat. The special items have quite a range to make up for any predictability among the standard menu items, including duck, seafood, chicken, and tofu. We found the pricing to be quite reasonable, actually a touch less than we were expecting.
The decor is all over the place. The bar seems to be the remnant of a tiki bar, though most of the island kitch had been removed, but not all. There were some Thai-inspired wall coverings, but an odd number of police patches mounted to the walls, too. As I mentioned before, forget the decor and go for the food. One final note: the restaurant is not visible from Courthouse Road, despite having a Courthouse Road address. It is in a strip running perpendicular to the Food Lion, and just behind the gas station. They have ample parking and even...
Read moreLet me start by saying, their food, for the most part, is good and satisfies my taste for Seafood Pad Thai when that’s what I have a taste for. HOWEVER… on 08/12/25 I called in an order and was told 15 minutes. I said fine. It was after work, I was going to see my 6 year old grandson who had just had surgery the day before so I was grabbing food and then meeting my daughter to go see him. Got gas and arrived at iThaiz. They were quite busy and noticeably understaffed. (Not a problem, it happens to a lot of places.) I made a statement to my daughter on the phone that 15 minutes turned into 34 minutes so I’m going to be running behind because they’re very busy. The cashier/waitress (N. Petsuda) began to yell at me that she didn’t want to hear my complaining, etc. and that she will give me my money back. I said nothing to her nor complained. I asked her was her behavior necessary as other patrons became alarmed as well and spoke up. She started kicking us out and yelling more and became enraged. I left while others on line asked for their orders to be cancelled as well. I realized that the receipt she gave me was not a refund receipt. I went back in and saw several items and straws on the floor. She was arguing with another woman who then told me after I left she began to throw things at them because they told her there was no need to behave this way. Needless to say, that is THE WORST experience of poor customer service I have ever dealt with in my life and I will NEVER go there again. Unfortunately it wasn’t an isolated incident with many witnesses who stated the same. That’s a lot of people to spread the word and that’s sad. The other woman who I usually saw was...
