Customers beware. This establishment offers the option to reserve a "TABLE"; however, their reservations are not really reservations at all. My girlfriend & I work hard & look forward to a night out with no kids, complications, & or issues. I placed a reservation for 2, 2 nights prior to the reservation. We walked in, checked in, & yet had to wait for a table. While waiting, we witnessed walk-in customers get told by the hostess, that it should not take long before they can be seated. The couple in front of us(with no reservation), was seated at a nice table for 2, minutes later, My girlfriend & I were then escorted to a counter that was in some sort of enclosed porch area. This counter was a typical counter that you might see in a coffee shop or in a pool table area at a bar. The counter could not have been more than 18 inches deep. We had to sit sideways just to conversate. The couple that was just behind us in line, again no reservation, was then seated at a nice table outside in the heated tent area. This observation really struck us hard. The hostess came by us & I stopped her to ask her to please seat as at a table & that we be happy to have a drink while we wait for one. Well it was at this time, the hostess indicated that we would have to wait at least 30-40 minutes as there are other customers ahead of us waiting to be seated. I knew that most of them were walk-ins as I was in the line when they walked in indicating so. I explained my concern for the request & was told that there was nothing else she could do. I explained to her that we placed a reservation for a table, got seated at a narrow counter, with customers before us & after us seated at a table & that I was not pleased with this at all. The hostess once again apologized & walked away. A waitress walked over to inquire if would like drinks, she was very pleasant about it. I indicated that we were actually not sure if wanted the drinks as we were just discussing the possibility of leaving. The waitress asked why & I explained everything to her, including the fact that this was our 1st time at this establishment & indicated that due the obvious deceitfulness on the owner(s) part, that we would be likely leaving an online review about the matter. The waitress, was extremely understanding & was quick to indicate that she would rectify the issue ASAP, & asked for us to be patient, & suggested that we order our drinks while she did so. With in 3-5 minutes, the waitress returned with our drinks & asked us to follow her to a table that she found for us. The waitress at this point introduced herself & inquired on our names. This waitress, Lexi, was with no doubt fantastic. She handled the matter like she was a manager/owner of the establishment. Lexi continued to wait on us for the remainder of our meal & continued to be possibly one of the best servers we have ever experienced. The owner(s) of the establishment should be grateful to have her as an employee, as she is a true asset to the Depot Street Tavern, & she literally prevented the loss of a couple of customers, possibly more, as my 4 star review would have been 1 (only because you cant leave 0 stars), & that could have deterred other new customers from trying out the establishment. Thanks to Lexi, we will be returning. If the issue had not occurred, this review would have possibly been a 5 star review. To the owner(s), I hope you can take some constructive criticism. I get why you are permitting reservations, but yet seating walk-ins. You should just simply do away with the reservations or abide by them. If you would like, I can provide plenty of other establishments in the area that permit reservations, & when a walk-in enters, the 1st thing that is asked, "do you have a reservation", & when the customer replies back indicating that they do not, they apologize, & then indicate, that they are booked solid; subsequently, unable to seat them. Others may have indicate to a walk of there next available, of which could be 1-3 hours. Lexi, thank you again. ...
Read moreI decided for the first time to go here for a Christmas Eve lunch. I have driven by many times seeing the restaurant fill with people and decided to treat my brother out for the holiday. We didn’t reserve seat so they place us in the outside. I called ahead and I was order that you can only reserve online. It took them 20 mins to ask us what we were going to drink after they sat us down. I have work at restaurant before and giving a drink after seating is the first thing. By that time we gave our drink order we had decided and gave our food order. We wait for the food awhile. We watch a couple people come outside to wait and went inside to go seat. My brother even remark about how they kept moving people. Once the food arrived we were finished with our coffee. The girl ask us if we needed anything and I ask for another coffee for during the meal. She told me they ran out out coffee, but she could make another pot. The food was okay, nothing really special. My brother was strongly disappointed with the side salad. It was a few long pieces of lettuce and look like rabbit food. We had to use fork and knife to cut it. My lettuce had some burn pieces in it. I almost thought I was tasting cigarettes, but could been from being outside room smelling someone on the outside. I ask for my burger to be medium rare, but it was made the same as my brother’s burger which was medium/well done. My brother remark that we could made the same food at home. It was basically grill cheese with burger meat. The girl didn’t come out to us throughout the whole meal and we wait 15 mins after finishing the food to ask if we needed anything. I ask her for my cup of coffee I ask before I start to eat. Once she came with coffee and us pour me a cup of coffee the pot was only a cup of coffee and not a full new pot of coffee. My brother didn’t even get his cup filled with any coffee. The coffee I could not tell if it was light roast or old coffee taste. I ask for check and she had that for me very quickly. The coffee was 6.50 for two cups. The food was okay, but poor service. I don’t plan on going again. I assume people only go for drinking or just a nice looking place. I am very disappointed on the service. Our meal was $46.23 for the...

Nov 11, 2019: Totally agree with their motto “Depot Street Tavern - the way a tavern should be”
This place is busy…even bar seating comes at a premium and you need to get permission from the gatekeeper…LOL Wide selection of craft beers and while I was trying to decide the bartender brought me a sample of the two and I selected the Definitive Contee Kolsch. I saw many of the various appetizers go by me out to the tables and they are huge so I passed. Also saw many of the sandwiches go by…there is no skimping on anything here. The bartenders (all four of them) are exceptional and shared their recommendations for dinner, as the kitchen makes things FROM SCRATCH!!! The menu encompasses a wide variety of options along with a chalkboard with daily specials. I decided to go with the Ultimate Chicken Parmesan that is a large crispy chicken breast smothered in mozzarella cheese with fresh basil, prosciutto, locally made penne pasta (easy to tell this was no boxed pasta…and it was perfectly al-dente) with a homemade tomato cream sauce that complimented the dish perfectly. All a little Romano cheese and some homemade garlic bread that actually was hamburger buns…but they worked and were tasty. Overall…an exceptional meal with friendly service. Watching the staff interact with the customers shows this is a neighborhood establishment loved by the patrons and...
