Gene's Variety — Restaurant in Milford

Great place with great food! I ordered catering from here a few weeks ago for my best friends funeral service. I spoke with Russ and he made the whole situation so much less stressful for me (which is VERY appreciated considering the circumstances) He assisted me in making sure I ordered the right amount of food for everyone as well as reminding me of the little things I would need for the day (tablecloths, cutlery, etc.) Everyone loved the food! And to top it off when I returned their equipment two kind young men (I didn’t catch their names) came outside in the cold to unload my car for me. Would recommend this place to anyone looking for catering or just lunch...

I've been going to Gene's since I was about 11, so 1981!!!! Of course, back then, it was for candy and soda, lol!! As I got older, I realized what a hidden gem it truly is! They have great subs and pretty much anything Italian. Not just the deli but stocked on the shelves as well. I don't make sauce because theirs is so good. Makes my life easier to boot! Thank you Gene's. Everyone who works there is very nice and wicked happy to help. Every time I go in, it brings back memories of walking to the pool and stopping at Gene's on our way there. I've never been disappointed or dissatisfied with anything I've gotten here! That's a lot over 42 years....

If you’re not in the know, you’d never guess the magnitude of delicious soups, sandwiches, and sumptuous pies, that line the baker’s racks and refrigerator shelves inside Gene’s Variety, prepared on site, in the kitchen of this understated Italian market. It’s almost misleading to call it an Italian market because in today’s vernacular that’s a retro brand that makes a conscious effort to evoke something retro because almost with gusto of the Italian neighborhood it was par of.
