it was the worst hotel i have ever stayed in within the continental united states and i have stayed in many hotels. it was worse than dives in 3rd world countries and i have stayed in many of them. the owners, and managers, Indians, who usually manage hotels well were abominable, specifically chad, the american raised one whom i had to deal with.
i was in a very difficult situation in my life, as were many of the other tenants at the hotel, and instead of being helpful and kind, the management exploited that fact.
i was given a room at a reduced rate because the tv wasnt working the first night I arrived, exhausted and stressed and worried about the cost of the room. the next day, "chad" informed me that my room did have a working tv and turned the tv on. he told me that if i wanted the reduced rate i had to move to another room. i had a lot of luggage, food in a cooler, etc. but he finally agreed to have me move to the room directly next door. on hindsight, this was all a ruse to get me to pay more money.
the old room had lights that didnt turn on and was kindof dirty. i have to say that the beds there are extremely comfortable. ill give them that. the new room had a toilet that didnt flush and a fridge with a basketball sized ball of ice around the freezer section, making it practically unusable.
the first day i spent trying to defrost the freezer, putting all my food in the cooler. the toilet continued to malfunction, just running a bit of water around the bowl, but never completely flushing.
that night, i called down to the desk and got one of the flunkies. they hire hapless immigrants from india who can barely speak english and have no idea of what is going on. they must tell them that it will be an easy job and they wont have to do much, because that is what they do. they hang out in the office while trash blows around the yard around them outside. i got Ram on the phone and spent 10 minutes trying to explain to him what a toilet plunger is. he finally understood and said he would look for one.
i came down to the office on my way to the store down the street (i had no car) and he had found a plunger, but obviously didnt want to do the work. i told him we would figure it out when i returned from the store and realized that he was alone there and would have to leave the front desk vacant to do the work. oh hindsight, that wouldnt be the end of the world if one of the tenants couldnt flush the toilet.. so i offered to stay in the office to greet anyone who comes while he plunges the toilet. i think he was hoping that i would do it myself. :l
he returned after 20 minutes and reported that he was able to clear the toilet but the flush still didnt work. (the water pressure wasnt enough to flush the toilet).
the next morning on my way out, i stopped at the desk and good ole chad was there. i said, "you need to replace the fridge and fix the toilet" (the fridge was still not defrosted after being off all day the previous day). he offered to move me to another room, to which i replied, "oh no, not that again." it took me half the day to move the first time. i insisted that he fix the toilet and fridge and he replied, '"we can refund the room madam" code word for "leave if you dont like it". i, like many of the tenants, had no car, no way to leave without a lot of expense and trouble.
they should have payed me to stay there. i forgot to mention that the phone didnt work in the new room and i had to switch the phone from the previous room to have phone service.
i was there 3 nights for which they charged me 80 bucks a night, when i had a beautiful room with good service at the hampton suites in west haven for just 10 dollars more at a weekly rate. AVOID THE PLACE AT ALL COST UNLESS YOU SEE A BIG SIGN STATING "UNDER...
Read moreUpdate: I did get the money returned to my Card. Credit card and security watches the card. Last week we had 2 charges that we did not have in it. The Credit card monitoring called and asked. We did not charge to a charity or an online shopping. Not sure if it is a coincidence or not? CC company are investigating and since canceled our card and provided overnight new card.
Showed up on Tuesday. Was a little taken back by the looks of the place. Very dirty. People hanging out on cartons smoking what every.. had computer chairs out side the rooms with people drinking beers and other.
Went in to check in. Asked for first floor. Figured at least it would be close to the car.
We had college move in day for our Daughter and just needed a cheaper place for few hours of sleep. Big mistake!!!! We entered room 212. Smelled so bad. The bathroom was a mess. No towels. Toilet paper up on the window shelf with window open. Tiles busted up. Hole in bathroom door and had trouble to close the door.
The laminate floor was crazy dirty. Walsh had stains on them from puke or someone spitting drinks on it. The curtain barley hung and did not close.
The beds were made is about the only good think I could say. The electrical switches clicked like it would start a fire. Lights would not come on.
I returned after locking my wife as daughter back in our car. The lady at the front desk acted like she was so surprised and wanted to get me in another room? I refused 3 times telling her to return our money to the credit card. I also said if I need to make a seen then I will call the police. Told her I would just rather have my money back and leave with out any more issues. She went on her screen and did something. Then said ok you are all sent with a credit back on card? I asked for confirmation receipt. She would not give. I left as another couple walked in to get a room.
I went down the road and explained to the Holiday in Express. Was treated so nice and welcome is with a slight discount and had a wonderful night sleep. Trust me when I say I do not pay much attention to Reviews.. I no longer use that as my policy. I made the mistake and did not read the reviews from the Motel 8 in Milford across from Hooters. The website pictures are nothing like the hotel rooms or the lobby!! Just a company photo across the board. We have contacted our credit card company explained. They see it still pending? They also see our charge at the Holiday in express only 20 min after checking in to the motel 8 by Wyndham!! How can the Wyndham name be attached to this franchise owner of the Motel 8 just off Rt95 on Milford CT. Stay far away unless you enjoy the nasty rooms and what ever illegal activity is happening in the Hotel parking lot / Stairways/elevators/and the balcony. Never wrote a review before but this had to be written.
Gave one star because I think I had to. Could not find a...
Read moreI usually do not do reviews but this place needs me to tell my experience, the worst establishment i have ever been to. My wife wanted to take me to a motel for the weekend, we have been doing that for over 20years where we go to different motels/Hotels. she booked this a weekend at Super 8 and paid through a third party that allows you to make flex payment so they pay the motel and you pay them back. When we get inside the man at the front asked for the name, card and Id so once he found the reservation he tells us we have to pay my wife is explaining that she paid through one of the options on the site. He tells us that we need to pay because it does not shows the card that we used to pay, so he then tells us we need to contact the bank that we used for payment. My wife calls the bank and explains that they are trying to charge us twice, the rep tells my wife to put the front clerk on the phone so that she can give him all the info, my wife puts her on speaker and the clerk now is telling us that he does not need to talk to the bank rep and is giving us attitude to the point where the bank rep tells him that everything is being recorded and that he is very unprofessional and that she is going to report him. We asked for refund because at that point we were not going to stay and did not want to get charge, he refuse to do so, so according to the bank rep the motel were already paid even though he was telling us that we needed to pay. He refuse to give us his name or his supervisor's name, he gave me a card with no name just the regular motel's info he also refuse to give that info to the bank rep. I have called numerous times and for some reason he always picks up, not sure if he lives there. I finally got today 9/24/25 a different person and tells me to call at 9am that the manager will be there and that his name is Chai. when i called at 9am and i am explaining the situation guess what? is the same dude that we had the incident, i then ask for his supervisor that he always picks up the phone he then tells me that there is no one above him in a very arrogant tone. I told him if he owns that establishment shame on him for treating customers the way he did and that even if he owns the place there is still someone i can talk that i can explain what happened so that he doesn't do it to someone else. If anyone knows how what else i can do please let me know, i might...
