A1 DONUT — Restaurant in Mill Creek

Updating 6/13/25: They’ve gotten better about having some mochi donuts available and variety since I wrote this review.

My first experience of A1 donuts would make me leave a 5 star review, but it’s been a bait-and-switch situation, sadly. On our first visit they had delicious mochi donuts and pretty much every other donut, too. It was not very early morning or anything, and the variety was still impressive. On our next visit there was not much variety and no mochi donuts. We were told that mochi donuts were only available on Saturdays and Sundays. Our next visit was on a Saturday. No variety, no mochi donuts. I decided to call this morning (early Saturday) and confirmed: no mochi donuts. I would understand if it’s not something they can offer anymore, but they’re benefiting from saying they’ll be available on weekends to have customers return, for now at least. It’s disappointing.

The three stars I’m leaving are pretty much for the buttermilk crueler. That’s a five star donut for me. They’ll usually throw some free donut holes into the box, which is nice but… they’re just okay. If what you really want is a mochi donut, or another specific one you have in mind, I would call ahead to ask if they have it. Otherwise, you’re not missing...

I really loved this donut shop. They have a unique selection that they have perfected. My all time favorite i tried was the strawberry filled donut topped with creamy peanut butter. If I could just be a morning person I would eat one of those donuts every morning. I wish I remembered the young man's name, but he had fantastic customer service. Held the door open for me and everything. I went in to get some regular chocolate donuts for my fiance which they didn't have because I went in the last hour. But we chose this location because I wanted something a little more interesting. Since they didn't have any i just got a dozen of different donuts I've never tried and a couple classics. They were all super fun and tasty. Another special shout out to the blueberry cake donut. Good job on that one to. One of my fav kinds of donuts. Covid friendly! The person working the shop had a mask, and all the donuts are behind glass.

Great location thats easily accessible. I give it 4 stars because they have a small selection of donuts, but a good variety of classics and new and fun flavors. The chocolate icing on the chocolate bar was a little too sweet for me, but it was still good. The owner was super nice and threw in some donut holes in our box which we thoroughly enjoyed. All the donuts were very fluffy and fresh!
