This is in response to the poster Amanda Fox who wrote a negative review/complaint saying the delivery driver "let himself in" to her apartment. This is ABSOLUTELY UNTRUE. I was asked to deliver a sandwich to an apartment in East Windsor because something happened with Doordash bringing it to them. When I arrived and found the apartment, I walked to the downstairs outside door. I knocked, I did not see a bell. There was what appeared to be a well-lit common stair area leading up to an apartment door, like many apartment buildings have. The downstairs outside door was also unlocked. So, to no response I entered the stairwell, walked up the stairs to a CLOSED door with the food in hand. I then knocked, I verbally identified myself, and even stepped back down three or four stairs awaiting a response. A younger man came to the door and answered, I told him I was from Vesuvios, to which he took the food, thanked me, he closed the door, and I went on my way back down the stairs and out. I never once entered or attempted to enter or let myself in the apartment nor did I speak to or see anyone other than the man. I also had no phone number on the ticket because it was through Doordash, so there was no way of contacting the customer if someone had not answered the door. It was also close to 10 p.m. Vesuvios closes at 9 and drivers are done for the evening. Driving 20-25 minutes to deliver a sandwich as a favor because Doordash dropped the ball is not my idea of a good time and the restaurant was not obligated to do it. I have never had a negative experience with ANY customer, and believe me, I'd much rather have been in bed at 10 p.m., not driving to East Windsor, let alone "entering" a strangers apartment. Your entirely false, inappropriate accusation of events is what's "unacceptable," not how the delivery was handled. Cancel the order from Doordash and get your money...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI had a delivery issue a few months back that I posted a review about. This was after speaking to the resturant and they were very rude about the interaction. I even stated it was probably a mistake but unacceptable and you guys should be aware of it. In the review I stated the food was good and the restaurant was nice enough to fix my doordash order but the driver DID let himself into my apartment.
So in true Vesuvio's fashion instead of dealing with this themselves the driver posted a five star review as a response stating everything I said was false & next time cancel your order. Thatās very mature and a great way to conduct business!! So in response to that Joseph Malanaphy you DID let yourself into my apartment considering the stairwell is part of it and it is NOT a common area. You can tell because our shoes and some mail are there when you walk in, not to mention the ONE NUMBER ON THE DOOR, you would think seeing this you would turn back around. This person also claims there is no doorbell, I can happily post a picture of my doorbell. He also claims he knocked and announced himself. He did not. My husband and I looked at eachother very confused as to how or why someone was in our house. He also claims it was after ten, it wasnāt when I called because I called asap and the resturant said the driver lives out this way we are happy to help. To which I was very thankful for and have stated multiple times. Anyway shame on you Vesuvio's for having your driver respond and speak very disrespectfully after doing something he should not have and instead of rectifying it yourselves to save face you do this. I even said it was probably an accident and I had an issue with the fact that the BUSINESS had nothing to say except āwe donāt deliver to apartments only housesā & āweāve never had an issue with the driver.ā SHAME...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis review is 8 years in the making! When we were moving into Millstone Township 8 years ago, throughout the whole closing process and all that entailed, we would get lunch from Vesuvioās. During what would be our last visit to this place, we were looking up their menu items on our phones and noticed they had a coupon for $1 or $2 off (I donāt remember). We went to the restaurant to place our order and asked if we could get the $1-$2 off. The lady at the counter said we needed a printed copy of the coupon in hand. We explained that weāre in the process of moving to the neighborhood and donāt have a printer nearby but that I could bring one back at my next visit since weād be living in town. I even explained that our realtor is right across the street, which it was and still is, but they could not come off their policy of having a printed coupon in hand. Now I get policy is policy and maybe they use these coupons for accounting purposes but I wasnāt born yesterday. This lady even got someone else who was making the pizzas to say the same thing so at this point they were willing to forgo customer service for at most $2 off. What I couldnāt help but feel was something else was in the air that day. Not sure if it was the way we looked but we didnāt feel welcomed there at all. Talk about a welcome to the neighborhood moment for us. Fortunately, not everyone in town are like that and we found Bella Napoli and have been giving them our business for over 8 years now. Vesuvioās seems to always be contracted for in-town events, especially with school events, but we avoid them like the plague. We outright refuse to support this establishment after such a tasteless encounter....
