I really wanted to love the food. It's not often you get a seafood forward menu around these parts. My girlfriend and I arrived early, so we sat at the bar while we waited for the rest of our group. The bartender was attentive funny and overall great. They have a lot of local beer choices on tap and a full bar. I'm not a fan of no windows in a restaurant. I can't see myself sitting inside on a nice summer day or night, however sense it was winter it was not a deal breaker. The seating is definitely dated white 90s chairs with red booths, decore basic. The bathroom is very new and updated (women's) it is at the front of the restroom, and the men's at the back, one stall right off the bar area. On to the food. We ordered the coconut shrimp, large portion I believe 10 nice size shrimp. Good crunch and flavor. The dipping sauce was weird, applesauce with red paper flakes..strange, to say the least. The pork belly was super crispy on the outside and fatty juicyness on the inside..by far my favorite thing all night. I ordered the sesame crusted tuna with a Wasabi soy sauce. The tuna was supposed to be medium rare..Def just rare, not even sure it had any kind of sear to it. I also prefer my sesame seeds to be toasted. They were not. The tuna itself was ok, a big chunk was a vain that got left on the plate. The biggest fault in the dish was the soy whatever sauce..it was straight salt to the point it dried out my tongue, just not good. My friends all got the cod stuffed with crab. It came out warm at best (my friends said cold). The fish itself was mushy like it sat in water too long. The crab mixture had no real flavor. The mash potatoes had too much garlic taste, and I love garlic. This was just overwhelming and bitter. The Brussel sprout petals tasted like grease from being flash fried. Overall, the food was not what I expected. The service was great, prices ok (if the food would live up to it). Should have gone with the chicken and the burger like the staff suggested. On the fence if I will...
Read moreIf you're in the Lake Milton area, there's a little dining gem you have to experience. My wife and I along with many friends, neighbors, and family members have been dining here for over a year now, and the Prop house never disappoints. Service is phenomenal, (Jody) is always amazing! Christine always greets us with a smile and she goes above and beyond with her desserts. Coffee is always fresh and spectacular with a great dessert. It's really hard to find a great cup of coffee at a restaurant. The menu is very diverse and has a wide range of dishes for everyone. So when Jody asked, "Have you tried the peanut butter and jelly hamburger?" I'm like...that doesn't even sound good. But I took a chance and gave it a go. I mean, holy smokes was that an amazing burger. Cooked to perfection and topped with breaded and fried jalapeños, PBJ and cheese, and whatever fixings you prefer. Off the chart burger 10 out of 10!!! I'm working my way through the diverse menu and have yet to sample a single dish that I didn't find amazing. Tonight, I tried the pineapple pork chop. Wow! Thanks (Sandy " Candy" for the great drinks and recommendation for the pork chop. So anyways....if you're in the area stop in and be treated to great food, fun atmosphere and really friendly...
Read moreMe and my husband went to the prop house tonight for the very first time. The atmosphere was very welcoming and friendly and the decor maybe it feels cozy. The customer service is excellent. The waitress that we had was very friendly and attentive. We got the stuffed mushrooms for an appetizer ,my husband got the Fifth season tower with fries and mashed potatoes and I got the 1lb bone in ribeye with the baked potato and corn. Everything was so delicious and seasoned to perfection. The char on the steak was so flavorful, both steaks were a perfect medium well which we ordered. The crab cakes in the fifth season tower were so good that we couldn't decide which was better the steak or the crab cakes, and the bearnaise sauce on top was just heavenly. This is our first time going and we will...
