Today I discovered an excellent restaurant in my "neighborhood!" It is The Broken Egg on the far NW side of Milwaukee at 107th and Good Hope, in the former Ruby Tuesday. It is beautiful--all remodeled by the new owner, a very nice man who stopped and visited to see how we liked the restaurant and food. It is very roomy and open with nice decorative touches and colors. The menu is extensive with breakfast and lunch offerings. I don't know their hours yet but I believe they open at 6 am and close early afternoon. The service was VERY attentive and we received our meals fast! There were many people there but lots of space and no waiting for a table or booth despite the number of cars in the lot! NO MUSIC that I recall. GREAT! The new trend toward LOUD MUSIC in all restaurants at all hours of the day is a real turn-off for me! Tasty food and lots of it! I took half of mine home! You can choose 2 pancakes instead of toast with most egg dishes and they were EXCELLENT! They also bring you a carafe of coffee (good coffee) for your table! Love that! Prices are reasonable and very comparative to similar restaurants in the Milwaukee area. I am most happy that there is a good restaurant in this area! It is very under-served! If you live in Menomonee Falls, on the NW side of Milwaukee, or happen to be in the area, do yourself a favor and check it out for breakfast or lunch! I will be...
Read moreWe've wanted to try this place for a while. We've seen other restaurants come and go here, such as Ruby Tuesday's and The Broken Egg. I've seen the reviews from like a year ago. They may have had a rocky start, but they are shining bright now. Every restaurant's first year or two are the hardest. Our son wanted to treat us to breakfast. This was truly a treat. I haven't been wowed by a restaurant/cafe in a very long time. From start to finish, the service and food were both excellent. I loved the freshly squeezed orange juice. I think we got there at a good time, because these past several months during their business hours, their lot is packed. It got much busier by the time we left. Nothing but good things to say about Park Place Cafe. Definitely recommend. Not cheap, by the way, but you get what you pay for. In my opinion, it's reasonable with the food and service combined with today's economy. Will definitely visit again. Hat's off to all the staff here. Also, if you need more seasoning, you just add it yourself like anywhere else. I got the chorizo skillet and I didn't add any, but some of the rest of our party did. I'm Cajun and am used to heavier salt and other seasoning, but I can tell the cooks know what they're doing for me to be happy with adding nothing. Very well balanced. Not too salty and not...

Certainly the highlight of visiting Milwaukee for my wife and I! We visited on a busy Sunday morning, and despite the current climate of worker shortage, and the bustling of the Cafe, they seemed to be able to maintain hard and quality workers and they seated us so quickly and were even able to get us a booth.
Brandi our server seemed to be covering a fair number of tables and was busy, but she quickly came and took care of us and checked on us throughout our visit.
The food was delicious. I highly recommend the belgian waffles. My wife, a Midwest girl herself raved about the white gravy on her country breakfast.
And on top of that, we stopped by the next Monday on our way our of town, because I had to get one more waffle. I informed the gal at the hostess station of our wish we lived closer to such a place (we're from Idaho). I felt like she must be the proprietor or perhaps a manager, regardless, a very pleasant and kind woman. She even offered my wife and I complimentary fresh squeezed orange juice which was delicious!
If you're on the fence, just go! Youll be taken care of by these kind Wisconsinees. A wonderful experience we will always remember and include whenever we come this way to...
